He would be selfish once in his life.
Looking at the young woman holding desperately his sheets while asleep, he couldn't stop thinking everything that she will face it by his side.
The war had ended almost two years ago, a long time for others and a short time for both of them. Their relationship started before that, she had found him hidden from everybody after the death of Dumbledore, and despite all logic telling the correct Miss. Granger to kill her former Professor she simply preferred see under the lines, and in a twisted line of though found the truth. Always in his life he would have a debt with her for this, but most of all, he would thank her for giving this new life, this fresh and renewing love.
Yes, now he can assume that he loves her, completely, and accept her love for what it is. Two years and a half they took to be in this moment. She was no longer his student and she was of age, well, so many problems would come with their relationship, as the different of age, the friends in common, or the lack of. But, he had given up of that kind of conversation a long time ago, this woman could be more stubborn than him, and that was more than a lot!
He probably should wake her up now, but deciding that he would let her sleep a little bit longer, he got up, walking to the cabinet were a little black box stood. Today would be the day they would public be together as a couple, if took that long was his fault, trying to make his sweet Hermione change her mind about them. And, as a bonus, tonight he will propose. Not kneeling down in front of everyone, but in their moment together, when he could speak his mind, tell and show how much she means in his life, after that he was expecting she would be holding desperately his sheets, for a totally different reason.
Today would be the day that Severus Snape would be selfish, at least once but for the rest of his life.
