BUT WE BROKE UP THAT WEEK, MY DARLING

Daria and Jane were walking through the halls of Lawndale High, deep in discussion.

"I don't think you've thought this through. What do you do with the hostages once you get to the airport?" Daria asked

"They're coming with me. We're talking party plane. All the way to Libya," Jane replied

As they continued, they noticed Brittany and Upchuck talking. The pair had been working on a science project together, and Brittany was protesting about something.

"But Kevvie and I broke up that week!"

"Really? It's so hard to keep track of these days," Daria said.

"Alas, the course of true love did never run smooth," Jane replied.

Upchuck was holding up a photograph, and as Jane looked at it, she got a shock. In it, Brittany was with a guy she'd clearly been making out with. And Jane immediately recognized the guy as her boyfriend, Tom.

"What in the..."

"Oh no!" Brittany squeaked, "I'm sorry Jane but we met in some place and we were talking and stuff and he was really cute and all and please, you've got to keep this quiet from Kevvie please!"

Daria looked concerned as Jane scowled at Brittany, and then ran out of the school building.

"Jane!" Daria shouted after her.

"Wow. She looked kinda mad," Brittany said.

Daria gave Brittany a dirty look and walked away.

Tom heard the doorbell and answered to find Jane stood at the door, a neutral expression on her face.

"Oh hi!" he said.

"Oh hi!" she replied, looking overly happy and then suddenly scowling, "Go to hell!"

She then walked in, pounding on his chest as he protested.

"Ow... ooh... ow... stop it!"

"How could you! How could you?" Jane asked in anger.

"What are you talking about?" Tom asked.

"Cheating on me with a bimbo cheerleader? I thought you were better than that!"

"I didn't mean to, it just happened!" Tom replied, shocked that Jane found out.

"Oh, don't give me that," Jane said, "I don't even want to know the details. I'm out of here."

With that, Jane spun around and stormed out of the house.

"Jane!" Tom shouted after her, but she was gone.

Tom's sister Elsie had been at the top of the stairs listening in, and came down the stairs with a smirk.

"A cheerleader, Tom? How the mighty have fallen," Elsie said.

Tom scowled at Elsie and stormed up to his room without a word.
