also known, as Mori owed a lot to his cousin Mitsukuni, whom
everybody else called Hunni. The strong silent member of the host
club knew that he was dull compared to his shining, albeit childish,
cousin. He also knew that the reason people noticed him, was not
because of his quiet demeanour, his strength or any other of his own
traits. The only reason people noticed him was because he was the
'person that Hunni held on to' or 'Hunni's protector'.
Mori was no stranger to invisibility. On the odd days that Mitsukuni was not by his side, he felt the eyes of others slide over him, and he felt that nobody looked at him. Without Mitsukuni by his side, Mori just became part of the background.
Perhaps this was why when Mitsukuni was hurt, or was angry towards him, Mori felt so unbalanced. It was the threatening non-existence that would occur if Mitsukuni disappeared or even left him alone. Even if the only time people talked to him was when they were addressing Mitsukuni as well, Mori figured that this was better than if nobody talked at him at all.
As always there were exceptions to this rule. Sometimes girls would say that they admired it taciturnity, and others would say that they admired his strength, but when all they received was a deadpan answer, they soon lost interest in Mori.
Mori knew that without Mistukuni, nobody would even know that he existed. He knew that he was indebted to Mitsukuni, for acting like a torch and shining upon him and allowing him to be seen by others. The members of the host club often wondered what Mori was thinking about when he didn't speak. They probably didn't know that even though the Morinozuka's were an extremely rich family, what Mori thought about was debt.
