So I should be working on my other fic…but I have writer's block. I wrote this a while ago and decided to post it. It's inspired by One Song Glory from RENT. Hope you guys like it!
Disclaimer: I don't own ER or the characters…
One song, that was all he wanted. One perfect song, not a song with a catchy guitar rift or a chorus. He needed something more, one that would express his soul, his emotions.
It didn't matter to him whether or not he was in a band. Whether or not there were screaming girls surrounding him. He didn't need the lights, the audience, the stage.
One song, that was all he needed.
It wasn't for the fame. Or for being known as the guy who went solo rather than the guy who got kicked out of the band. No, it was for her. The problem was his mind was blank. Nothing. He had to dig deeper than just words.
Her smile…no…her scowl. Which would slowly twist into a grin.
Her small frame leaning into his room, refusing to set foot in it.
Dark hair that curled when she came out of the bathroom, still wet from her shower.
His feeling of loss when a ring was slipped over her finger.
His longing, his infatuation. The intensity of flooding emotions.
The realization that for once in his life he was actually in love. And for once the girl wasn't attracted to him.
Nothing came to him, he flung his pen across the room.
"Problems?" Neela picked it up and waved it at him. "I'd prefer not to be assaulted by flying writing utensils."
"Sorry," he tossed his unused notepad on the table.
One song, that was all he wanted. Recently the things he wanted also proved to bethe mostelusive.
