Singing

Chi-Chi stood silently watching as the man she so adored and longed for. He landed lightly on the ground in front of the house, his smoldering black eyes watching her silently. Chi-Chi shivered as she watched him with love in her own eyes. She moved her head back and listened to the sounds of her family yelling and laughing.

She motioned for the warrior in front of her to follow her behind the house. The warrior instantly agreed staying clear of the house despite the fact he could still hear the sounds of laughter and celebration that was coming from within.

The two black haired people paused when they had reached the back of the house. Chi-Chi kept her back to the man she wanted and tried to calm her racing heart. She knew she had to end this and the reason why was in the house behind her.

With her resolve back in check, Chi-Chi turned back toward the warrior and straightened her spine. The warrior didn't speak as he continued to watch Chi-Chi and he waited for her to speak.

"It is hard to express feelings with words and you of all people should know that better than anyone."

The warrior nodded his head politely and waited for her to continue.

"I'm sorry but I'm going to play this song because this is how I feel now."

The warrior raised his eyebrow but said nothing as he watched Chi-Chi moved toward her cd player. Quietly Chi-Chi pressed the play button. The music started up and Chi-Chi started to sing along with the words.

I would have waited forever

If I'd known that you'd be here

We could have shared our lives together

And held each other close all through the years

But I've met someone before you

And my heart just couldn't wait

So no matter how much I adore you

I've got to stand behind the promise that I made

Where were you, when I could have loved you?

Where were you, when I gave my heart away?

All my life, I've been dreamin' of you

You came along one promise too late

You came along one promise too late

I won't say that I'm sorry that I met you

I can't have you but I never will forget you

Chi-Chi stopped with the singing and stared at the warrior who stood with his head down as the chorus played twice more. The warrior didn't answer as he swallowed hard. He finally lifted his head and smiled just slightly.

"Alright Chi-Chi, I understand sweetheart. Bye."

The warrior turned and took to the air without a word. He glanced down at the house and shook his mane of jet-black hair.

"Good-bye my Raditz" Chi-Chi whispered. She closed her eyes and tried to keep from crying as she watched the man she loved fly away from her. She said nothing as she headed back inside and joined her family. Almost wishing she had never had made the promise.

'Just one promise too late.'

Okay. Sad, short and to the point…I think. Okay, review. Thanks.
