It's chilly and wet. Autumn is usually like this. You're not the biggest fan of dreary weather like this, but today you don't care; the timer on your wrist only has twenty minutes left. (19:52) You should be more excited about meeting your soulmate, but you don't feel too happy. (17:34) You remember how your previous relationship ended; when your partner found their soulmate. Both of you knew this would happen but you didn't know it would hurt this much. They, of course, weren't very sad at all. Last you heard, the new couple would be married in a month. (14:56)
You zip your coat up to the top. The wind starts picking up. What should you do next? You elect to just wander around, knowing you'll meet your fate where ever you are. (12:47)
You stop in front of a warm cafe that smells of coffee and fresh-baked bread. (6:21) Perhaps you should go in and get something. You almost walk in to the cafe, but the crowd doesnt let you in with their steady flow in and out. Oh well, you're broke any way. (5:42)
You decide to catch a bus and shuffle down towards the bus stop. (3:45) You're getting more and more nervous. Today you really don't want to meet your soulmate.
Perhaps if you take a bus to the next town you can miss the fateful meeting. Your stomach is starting to churn. (2:43)
You hop aboard the bus, flash your ticket and claim the last handhold.
Your driver can't stop again as the bus is totally jam-packed and nobody gets off yet so the bus takes you straight to the next town. You get off at the first stop and a crowd follows. (0:33)
You sigh and decide to amble towards your friend's apartment, as they live in this town. (0:24)
The beeping on your arm becomes loud as you check your wrist. (0:16) You want to just hide and run away and not meet your soulmate today. (0:11)
Suddenly somebody in a black trench coat slams into you and you land on the pavement. (0:08) The person grunts and walks away. (0:04) You are astonished at how rude that person is, ashamed at the thought this might be them, not realizing you're blocking the way of the passerby. (0:02)
A hand appears in your vision, offered by a friendly old man. "Come, let me help you." (0:00)
Your timer runs out, the beeping now more obnoxious than ever.
You stare in shock praying your soulmate isn't this grandpa.
Until you hear another loud beeping.
You jump up and spin around, effectively losing your balance again. Most if the passengers that exited the bus are annoyed but one smiles at you and asks if you are alright.
You don't hear a beeping coming from her wrist so you smile and say yes.
Suddenly arms circle your waist and a face is pressed into your shoulder.
"Hello." The person murmurs. You can clearly see their wrist flashing 0:00.
This is it.
This is your soulmate.
This is the person fate chose for you.
You turn around, speechless.
The person facing you is the person you never thought you could have. The one unattainable fantasy.
They're so much more perfect in real life.
Your soulmate is the celebrity you've been in love with since you first saw them on an interview.
You smile impossibly big and they grin back.
"Hello."
