The Dare
One shot
"NO!" I Whine.
" I dared you!" Rosalie said, " It's either this or you streak naked in the mall."
"But he's gorgeous, this'll be so embarassing."
"Bella—You'll never see him again, he's a stranger!" Alice pitched in.
We had been playing truth or dare when I was dared by Rose to go to the park and act crazy to the man of her choice. I never hated them more, the man they picked looked like Adonis in the flesh.
"Fine." I stomped my feet.
I swallowed my pride and walked over to the God on one of Seattles green park benches.
"Excuse me Mr." I said brusquely.
He looked up from his newspaper startled. He had the most amazing green eyes.
"Yes?" He asked.
"You're in my seat."
His face wrinkled. "YOUR seat?" He asked.
"Yes, that's what I said—MY seat!" I said impatiently.
"Are you kidding me?" He asked incredulously.
"I don't kid." I said trying to keep a straight face.
"It's a public park." He said slowly.
"Mr Man, ITS MY F'N SEAT! MOVE!" I yelled.
"Fine, fine… Don't make a scene." He stood up, put on his baseball cap and walked away.
I turned to the bush that the girls were hiding in, as soon as we looked at each other we all started laughing.
*1 month Later*
"c'mon Alice, really?" I asked.
" Yes, really Bella. A dare's a dare."
"But pickup lines are so cheesy!"
"Remember the fun we had last time we played. That was fun and you never saw the guy again, the same will happen here." Rose said.
I groaned," Fine which man this time?"
"That guy with the baseball cap on," Alice answered.
I took a deep breath, then walked over to the man. I patted him on the shoulder.
"Excuse me sir, I lost my phone number… Can I borrow yours?"
He turned, and what I saw shocked me. Bright green eyes stared back at me, dancing with humour. I jumped back.
"I thought you said you had no humour," He grinned.
" I'm sorry, my friends dared me both these times." I smiled in apology.
" And here, I thought you really wanted my number." He teased.
I laughed lightly.
"You can have mine," I said boldly.
We switched phones and exchanged numbers.
" Want to go have coffee?" He asked me.
"I thought you'd never ask."
