Cherry's perspective of social groups.
Social groups are tricky to make an opinion on. For instance if you are in a popular social group, it would sound conceited to say that social groups aren't a good thing, and then if you are in a "less" popular social group, it would sound stupid to say that social groups are bad and you would be shot down as a rebel.
I myself are in a popular social group, being a cheerleader and ex girlfriend of one of the most popular boys in school everyone thinks I have it all. However, this is not true.
For instance, if I were to just feel lousy one day and not feel like wearing nice clothes on and putting on makeup, I would be dropped out of the group or at least mocked and shunned for a day.
My boyfriend was recently killed by a greaser boy, but I met that boy that very night. He was shy and soft spoken, you would never even think he was a greaser (other than the fact that he hung out with them and looked like them, but that's going into stereotypes). I know he only killed Bob (my boyfriend) in self defense, I testify to that in court.
I just wish it weren't Soc's and Greasers, I wish it were guys and girls. Because other than the fact that they don't have a lot of money like the Soc's do and they look different, were all the same on the inside. We all deal with the pains of peer pressure whether were on the top of the ladder or the bottom; we all have family problems and fights within ourselves. Some times I wonder what it would be like, not to have social classes and be restricted to liking only certain kinds of people and shunning the rest. I wonder what it would be like to be friends with a greaser, I mean another regular kid.
