Edward Nygma sighed and glanced at his watch. They had been here two hours.

He looked over at Jonathan, who was chuckling gleefully.

"Oooo I like that…and this….hehehehehe….I'm checking you out…and you too…'cause everybody knows that two is better than one…hehehehehe…"

Eddie smacked his palm over his face.

"Jonathan, will you quit talking to the books? Because it is really starting to freak me out."

The Master of Fear huffed, cradling two large books in his arms and turning to glare at the Riddler. "Excuse me? I'm kind of checking some books out here!"

Eddie rolled his eyes. "'checking out' is right…" he mumbled under his breath. "Can we leave, please? People are staring."

Jonathan scowled. "I'm not leaving until I'm good and ready! Now quit fussing, I'm busy." The Scarecrow absentmindedly stroked the spine of one of the books as he said this and Eddie fought the urge to gag. Turning away, he headed for the magazine section of the library to find a newspaper with a good crossword puzzle.

"Honestly," he muttered to himself as he headed in that direction, "you'd think those books were women."
