If you're wondering what happened to my other HG fanfic, I deleted it. There's more info about that on my profile. Sorry I haven't updated my stories in a while, but I have been super busy.

This story kinda happened out of nowhere. I was listening to a sad movie score and this is what came out of it. I actually cried while thinking about it.

All characters belong to Suzanne Collins. Enjoy!

I felt like I was dreaming, but at the same time, I was wide awake. He walked toward me, no emotion on his face. His grey eyes – my eyes – seemed to dance. His hair no longer the same dark black, but tinges of grey streaking through it.

As he came closer, I smiled. He smiled back at me.

"Daddy!" I yell. I run and throw myself into his strong arms. Tears well in my eyes and run down my cheeks. I squeeze him tighter in this hug. "Oh, Daddy, I missed you so much!"

"I know," he says, rubbing my back. "I know."

I look up to his face. "Is Prim with you? Is she ok?"

"She's fine. She misses you."

"I miss her, too."

"I bet," he says. He pulls back to look at me. "You've grown so much."

"Yeah," I say. "I'm getting old, too."

"Thirty-two isn't very old."

"It is if you've been through all the crazy things I have."

"I suppose." He watches me, admiringly. "I'm so proud of you, Katniss," he says.

"Why?" I ask.

"You have accomplished so much," he says, smiling. "How can I not be proud?"

"I didn't do anything special," I say. "The rebellion-"

"I'm not talking about the rebellion. Or the games."

"What do you mean then?"

"You've been through so much pain, but somehow through it all, you still were able to love."

I think about that. Didn't I always love? I thought I did. It was out of love I volunteered for Prim.

"I always loved," I say.

"Not just love for your family, Katniss. You learned to really love." He brushes my cheek with his hand, wiping away my tears.

"Peeta taught me that, I guess," I say.

"He's good for you, isn't he?" He smiles a sad smile.

"Yes. I love him more than anybody." More tears begin to fall.

"He loves you, too. I've been watching you two. Ever since that first encounter," he tells me.

I think back. My dad was watching Peeta and I even with the bread.

"I wish you could have met him."

"I know him, Katniss. I keep track of you both."

I laugh. "I probably need more watching than him."

"Hmm," he muses.

"I wish you were still around. Or I could see you more." I wipe away tears. "I missed you when I was growing up."

"I wish I could have been there, too." He hugs me again. "I still miss two of my girls."

"Mom still loves you more than anything," I tell him.

"Say hi to her for me."

"I will."

"Tell her I love her," he says, tears now forming in his eyes. "I'll pass the love on to Prim."

"Thanks," I say. "Oh, and tell Prim that Peeta and I are starting a family. She's going to be an aunt," I say. "And you're going to be a grandpa."

My dad smiles. "I love you, Katniss."

"I love you, too, Daddy."

As I watch, he begins to walk into a cloud of soft and perfect memories. A light shining from behind him. "Good-bye, Katniss."

"Bye, Daddy." I give a small wave, and watch as he walks into the light.
