For the Pairing Diversity Boot Camp
Prompt: "Early morning cheerfulness can be extremely obnoxious."
The shades were suddenly pulled wide open allowing the sun to shine brightly in Scorpius' face and waking him up from a deep slumber. He squinted and groaned before attempting to pull the covers over his head. He was unsuccessful however, due to the fact that Albus had sat down on the bed, pinning the sheets underneath him.
"Rise and shine, love!" he said loudly, bouncing up and down on the mattress.
Scorpius groaned again and turned over onto his stomach. "I don't…want…to," he managed to say. His head was pounding on the inside of his skull and his mouth felt like it was full of cotton. Albus did not seem to be very sympathetic. In fact, he appeared to be rather amused.
"Did somebody drink too much last night?"
Scorpius mumbled something incoherent, but Albus's comment had thrown into sharp relief the fact that this was not his room, and he was not in his bed, and these sheets were not only very comfortable, they smelled like Albus. Scorpius breathed in the scent in appreciation before reluctantly turning over to face his boyfriend. He tried to piece together the events of the night before, but the last thing he recalled with any certainty was getting kicked out of The Leaky Cauldron. Again…
Albus had a very smug look on his face, his green eyes flashing in the sunlight pouring into the room. His black hair was a tousled mess, as always. The most obvious thing that Scorpius noticed was that he seemed well rested and not at all hung over. Lucky bastard. Scorpius didn't want to think about how terrible he must look. If how he felt was any indication, it could not be good at all.
"I hate firewhiskey," Scorpius said.
Albus smirked and leaned over to place a chaste kiss on Scorpius' forehead. "You always say that. Now, get up!"
Scorpius sat up and glared at Albus who was now rummaging through his closet and throwing clothes at him to wear. "Early morning cheerfulness can be extremely obnoxious."
"Ha! It's not morning anymore. It's almost one in the afternoon. Here." He tossed a clean shirt at Scorpius' face.
The blonde-haired wizard struggled to pull it over his head, but finally managed to get dressed. He stood up and walked slowly toward the door. Albus came up behind him wrapped his arms around his waist as they made their way to the kitchen.
"I've got some Pepper-Up potion that will perk you right up, Scor. And I made breakfast."
"What would I do without, Al?" Scorpius asked.
"Oh, I don't know. Be miserable, I suppose."
"Yes," Scorpius said, and turned around to kiss Albus gently. "I definitely would be."
