Author's Note: I thought this would be cute so I'm writing it. I do not own Star Trek or any of the characters. Please note flames.

"Who would make the perfect Santa Claus? I've been researching the role but for the most part the crew does not fit the requirements for the job. Riker has made an adequate Santa Claus, but he refuses to play the role this year. The captain wanted me to pick who would be the best but even the crew members who have experience with children are not interested in being the Santa Claus." Data explained to Geordi.

"Well what about you?" Geordi asked.

"I have not considered that. I do not believe I could portray a descent Santa Claus."

"Why not? You certainly have the memory capacity for it and you said yourself that you have done a significant amount of research into the role. I can think of no one better."

"Even though all that may be true, Geordi, I lack the ability to be 'jolly'."

"Yes, Data. But you can just act like you're jolly. I've seen your acting improve and I know you would be good with the children."

"An adequate argument. I will consider playing the role of Santa Claus."

After nominating himself as Santa Claus, Data called all the children to the holodeck. The holodeck house was huge and there was no sign of Data yet. The kids got antsy quickly and Picard grew nervous that Data was attempting to perform a big stunt. He wasn't wrong. There was a noise coming from the chimney.

"Captain, I am afraid that I might be stuck." Data said in a muffled voice.

The kids laughed and sung "Santa Claus is much too fat. He tried to go through the chimney but halfway down he sat."

"Well then get yourself unstuck." Picard ordered.

"Sir, I am trying my best." Data replied.

"Well do better than your best."

"Yes, sir."

Data wiggled hard in his fatsuit and managed to wiggle his way all the way down. The kids cheered and clapped and smiled. Picard merely shock his head regretting allowing Data to play Santa Claus.

After the mishap, Data easily memorized every child's wish list. He was patient and alert and kind and able to put on a convincing smile. He was the perfect Santa Claus.

Author's Note: This was a short one shot but there are more to come so don't worry. If you want, I might even add more to this one. Either way, I am looking forward to your reviews. Please as I said before- no flames.
