The wall

She knows now. The wall rubbles at her feet. She can feel it with every fiber of her restless body. She can even imagine her hands touching the cracked debris of the fears, doubts and guilt that have been attacked her from inside almost fourteen years. She can breath in and out without the struggle with the panic.

Her eyes lit up for a second. The corners of her mouth curve up in a small smile before she remember. It's over.

The only one person she wishes to see her little victory, the one who helped her to survive through the worst obstacles in her life and, indeed, who is the good reason the wall to break down, is done with her.

Being stubborn, challenging, maddening and selfish enougth and driven by her past and the dream for revenge that somewhere on the road she throw away the possible future she could have with him.

It's her fault, by the way. Even she can't be so stupid to stay and watch the eventual death of the one she loves.

She can't blame him. Not after the tirade of angst she put him into. Not after not responding to his confession of love, care and forgiveness. And definitely not after accusing him in betrayal.

But after all the wall is down. Her heart is free now in so many ways she can't count. There's nothing to lose.

Her mentor used to say that in life there's no victory, only battles. You could find a place to stand and it'd be luck if there's somebody by your side.

She knows the trust is the most important thing to build a future together. So she takes a deep breath, oversteps the ruins of her past mistakes and takes another step toward her possible future with the man who loves her so unconditionally that will find even the last straw to save and bring into light her broken heart with the simple word „Always".

Till now she didn't allow herself to dive into it but today, today it's all she wants. Him and their „always". And the vanilla latte he brings her every morning only to see her smile.
