The Many Tales of Raven's Melody

Story: The Involvements With Clouds

Chapter one: The early bird catches the worm

I sat on the ground in the middle of a pleasant forest, which was a couple days away from giant trees of untold age and plenty of plants whose names were only known by herbalist or really bored people who's lives I might question deeply, yet all in all, it was my kind of place.

I got up and stretched from head to heel, then walked over to a near by puddle to drink.

I scooped up the pleasantly cold water and noticed my reflection which I haven't viewed in quite a while when I think about it.

I'm a 16 and half year old girl(I think...), with blond hair that reached to my elbows. I had nice pale white skin and im about 5 and a half feet. Around my neck was a big spike dog collar. For clothes, I was wearing a causal white shirt with black sweat pants to match. I would look pretty normal...if it wasn't for my eyes. My left eye was a sweet, but my right eye was the cold color of ice and to top it off my right eyes pupil was unnaturally a slit, which gave the impression of a wolf's night eyes.

I sighed, I could care less about my appearance, right now my main concern was food.

"Brother should be back soon..." I mumbled. I have a bad habit of mumbling now and then Ill warn you now.

I suddenly heard a rustling noise and quickly turned to face it. But I relaxed when I saw who it was. It was none other then my brother, who was dragging back a big gray hare.

"Will, glad to have you back!" I said happily. Will gave a happy bark and ran over to give me sloppy licks.

Oh, did I forget to mention that Will is a dog?

He was half shepherd and half wolf, he was the size of a shepherd but he mainly looked like a small white wolf with the long shepherd hair and tail as the only sighs of his traits.

Ironically though, his left eye was the same color as my own left eye and where his right eye should be there was nothing but faded scars.

His family adopted me when I was just a child. His dad (a big brown German Shepherd) raised me like his own pup.

Though most of the original family has passed away, new animal companions have made there way into the pack, surprisingly enlarging the pack with triple the numbers.

Will and I decided to chow on the hare like a frenzy of sharks. We both preferred raw meat then toasted meat.

Will and I were stuff after dinner so we decided to go to bed, with little thought of the trouble that tomorrow would apparently bring.

~*.*~

The next day we were woken to a loud explosion noise not too far from our camp. We decided to take action and ran to the source of the noise.

Animals were running in all directions, derbies was everywhere, and trees that had been around for years were either destroyed or on fire.

I gave an almost inhuman like growl, who was the one responsible for ruining a part of MY forest! Will barked my answer and I looked up to see that the threat was...a bird?
