The dare
James and his friends were just talking when Lilly happened to walk by. James was about to run up to her, when Sirius stopped him.
"James I dare you to ask Lilly out"
James gave him an awkward face "okay that's easy"
Sirius gave one of those plotting faces " but there's a catch. If she says no you have to move on and get over her if she says yes then that's just great"
"What!"
"Hey you already said you would do the dare potter"
Peter and Remus were snickering as potter did that hair thing and walked over to Lilly.
Lilly was reading a book she was deeply into it when potter startled her
" Hello Evans" James said cunningly
Lilly jumped in fright and dropped her book she looked up with her fierce emerald green eyes
" Oh it's you…just go away potter!" she yelled
James picked up her book and handed it to Lilly, she snatched it
" Lilly will you please go out with me?" James asked. Butterflies were starting in his stomach he had never felt like this before Lilly please don't say no, don't say no please… is what I kept saying in his mind hoping and wishing.
" For the last friggin time potter No!"
James looked at her with a saddened face one Lilly had never seen him do before, she gave a confused look then James blew her a kiss and left with his head hung low as she sat there in shock. Then she shook her head and began reading again.
As James was walking back he noticed Remus talking to a girl. Peter and Sirius were standing next to him listening intently.
