Terra II part 1

There once was a girl named Tara Markov. She was born in the nation of Markovia, an unwanted child of the King of that country, from an extramarital affair. She was psychotic. She eventually infiltrated the Teen Titans at the behest of the villain known as Deathstroke, the Terminator. Her psychotic rage eventually claimed her own life.

This is not her story.

This is the story of the girl that unwillingly inherited the name Tara Markov, the code name of Terra, and the earth-shifting powers that went with it. This is the story of Terra II, the second Tara Markov, the girl the original Terra could have been, should have been, and pretended to be....but never was.

This is a story of hope, and anger, and love, and lust. A story of dreams and nightmares and heroes and villains.

But above all it is a story that shows that sometimes....just sometimes, happy endings can true....if only writers allow them to.

The year was 2001, if you believed the calendar. But it was not the 2001 that we know. It was a world dominated by a madman with Godlike powers. He called himself Lord Chaos, and he controlled his world with an iron fist.

In this timeline the super powered resistance against his rule, and those rebels called themselves Titans, in memory of the Teen Titans who had come before the time of Lord Chaos. Chaos himself had a rather special and unpleasant connection to the Titans of old....but no one knew that yet.

But these new Titans, this resistance of over 600 metahumans, was proving to be a real thorn in his side. So he resolved to infiltrate them with one of his own, find out their secrets, and destroy them, It was a fine bit of historical irony that he had no idea that he was trying to repeat history.

He had his soldiers abduct a nameless orphan off the streets of New York. She was young, blonde, and cute. She looked a lot like--though not exactly like--a young girl from the old Teen Titan records there was not much information on. A girl who had been a Titan for a short time, then died tragically in battle. The girl had been named Tara Markov, and she had been called Terra.

The truth of her career as a Titan and the reasons for her death were not in Chaos' records. Strange is the ways of Fate.....how strange indeed.

But Lord Chaos knew enough for his purposes. He sent his scientists to the grave of Terra. They exhumed the remains. There wasn't much left, but yes....there was enough viable DNA left for their needs.

The nameless orphan was strapped down in the laboratories of Chaos, and the operation began......
