A Life as a Goddess
It was seven weeks after Neferdite was just sitting down to breakfast in her palace on Mt. Olympus when her hansom husband, Apollo, came in.
"How are you doing this morning?" he asked.
"Fine." she replied, which wasn't exactly a lie.
"It's time to go to the party at Zeus's palace; he has an announcement to make." he said.
"Already?" she remarked.
"Sweetie, its 12:00!" he stated.
"Oh." she said.
So they got dressed up in their' fanciest clothes. Neferdite wore a long, flowing, dazzling silver silk gown with sparkles and layers at the bottom. Apollo wore a gold silk tunic with braided gold lining. Neferdite also wore beautiful dolphin earrings and a gold manatee necklace. Apollo wore an olive leave crown on his head.
When they were finally ready they got in their golden chariot and flew up to Zeus's palace. They went inside and everyone started clapping and cheering. Neferdite was stunned.
"What's going on?" she exclaimed.
The cheering ceased and Zeus's strong but gentle voice spoke.
"We have finally put together a 'welcome back party' for you! I'm sorry it took so long. We wanted to make sure it was the best party you ever had," he said smiling, "So, welcome home!"
"Wow!" Neferdite exclaimed as she looked around all at the people sparkles, and banners.
