Gundam 00: a troubled heart.

Setsuna sat inside his Gundam. He was experiencing regret over killing Anew Returner. It had been along time since he felt grief. Five years ago when he lost his comrades was the most recent. But that was replaced with an implacable joy when he found his friends… No his family was still alive. Maybe a little smaller then before but they were still his.

Even though he didn't show it he had grown fond of them. Though in his own way. Not like Lockon… Neil… Had. Always cracking jokes and smiling, even when it was a forced smile a forced good mood he had still tried to be the big brother. Then he died.

Setsuna sighed as he slowly took of his helmet. He knew Lyle was probably waiting on the bridge for him. Setsuna thought he was most likely waiting to deck him. He thought that maybe he deserved it, maybe there had been another way maybe if he had just looked harder she would still be aliv…

"Setsuna?" It was Feldt's voice. "Are you crying?"

Setsuna pressed his hand to his face and felt the moisture through his glove. 'So much for being emotionless.'

Feldt bit her lower lip and hugged him. Setsuna blinked and had to force himself not to remove her from his body. People touching him had been… unnatural. Ever since he had killed his parents people touching him had effected him terribly. It was a fear of people getting close to him and hurting him, and a fear of people getting close to him and him hurting them.

"It's okay." She said softly, her face blushing insanely. "You didn't have a choice."

She would normally be utterly flustered right now. She had never been a social person and found it hard to get close to people. But she found the same thing in Setsuna, a social awkwardness and a fear of being close to people. Something Neil hadn't missed.

"Feldt Grace." Setsuna said as she pushed away from him. "That was thoughtful of you."

She giggled when he said that and started to leave the room.

"You haven't changed at all…"

In heaven Neil smiled his big goofy grin and called proudly. "I knew it!"
