Memory
Chapter 1
There is a pile of clothes near me. The remains of a family, a home. The son still lying down on his bed. His body charred and blackened. The house is now burnt to cinders. I am standing on what used to be the ground floor. The kitchen is full of soot and ash and smoke can still be seen lingering from its origin point and yet… the father is gone. Vanished, as if into thin air. I can hear the screams of the dead and dying.
"daddy! Mommy! Help me!" I can hear banging on the door.
A cold chill goes down my spine. Out of the shadows I spot something moving. A person? It seems… too unnatural to be human. Could it be a ghost or a creature? The building is now pitch black. Then it advances. It is upon me. I feel as if I must scream or die! Then there is nothing but blackness.
Then I woke up. No worse for wear. It's time for another day
Chapter 2
I take a deep breath of the cool air. This is my life, being stuck in a concentration camp, under North Korean rule. We gave up a long time ago. The resistance is crushed. I have put my hope in a lock box, combination 666.
Out of the corner of my eye, a flare. Then a Humvee rolls up, and seethe begins to blast through the radio. Gunfire fills the camp but I am unhurt. I see the bodies but feel no pain, nor remorse, for they are free, and I am trapped. But it is but an idle fantasy as I am jerked awake. I have given up on praying for a savior. A son clinging to his daddy. "you must survive" he says to this little boy. Amid the fire, there are screams. But what hope is there for survival when we are trapped like rats?
Chapter 3
The market is buzzing with people. But I cannot see them I can only see others like me. A light that beckons me. It confuses me. But I know its purpose. The fire. The child's name was Adrian Parker. His father simply wanted him to help these people. But I cannot fathom why the light beckons me. Unless…I am Adrian Parker. But why me? Regardless, I step through the door, into my hell.
(to sum up, Adrian lit his house on fire by accident, through use of a firecracker and he and his father burned alive. Upon realizing this in chapter 3, he enters the door to hell to accept his punishment)
