A/N: Hi there! So I've been avoiding writing any glee fanfics since last summer. It hasn't really felt right to do so, plus I've had a long streak of writer's block. With that being said, I've also stopped reading a lot of fanfic so if this one is like someone else's then I'm sorry. I just woke up this morning with this idea in my head and I had to do it. I do NOT own anything.

This is for the couple that made me want to write.

She had five minutes.

Five minutes before show time.

Five minutes before the curtains came up.

Five minutes before her life could change.

She had asked for privacy. She needed a few moments to take it all in. This was her first big shot at breaking into the business. If all went well, maybe the show could go from Off-Broadway to on Broadway. Maybe she could be a star.

She was ready. Her make-up was flawless and her wig was in place. She checked over her costume to make sure that everything fit right.

There was still something missing. Or rather someone.

She reached over and grabbed her purse. It didn't take long to find it. She pulled it out and looked at it. It's edges were worn for how many times she had held it over the past year. She took a mental note to be careful with it when she saw a small coffee stain on the corner. She wanted to keep this picture forever and in order to do that, she needed to keep it in better condition.

She sat down at her make-up table. The mirror was lined with pictures of all her friends. There was one of Kurt and Mercedes from one of the first glee club meetings. On the other side, there was a picture of her, Santana, and Quinn when they had visited the previous year. There was another one, near the top, of the whole glee club circa 2012.

She looked back down at the picture in her hand. She had yet to add this picture to the mirror. Even as she held it, she knew she never would. She needed this picture. She needed this picture with her. At all times. It gave her strength when she had none. It made her smile. It made her cry. It was hers. And only hers.

She ran her thumb over the outline of his face. He was smiling. More like laughing.

It was a picture of them from senior year. Someone, maybe Kurt, had snapped the picture. They hadn't noticed because they were too caught up in themselves to recognize the flash of the camera.

It was before a glee club meeting. She had walked in and he had been messing around on the drums. Instead of walking over and sitting near the drums, she decided to walk straight towards him and sit on his lap. She had had a bad day and just needed to be near him. He had been more than happy to stop banging on the old drum set so that he could hold her tight. They had sat like that for a few moments before he cracked some joke that she didn't even remember. It had made her laugh, which made him laugh. That's when the picture was snapped.

She loved this picture. It was fun, carefree. It was pure happiness. It was them.

She leaned down and kissed the picture. She kissed him.

She rested her head on the table and held the picture to her chest. She tried so hard to not cry when she whispered, "Oh, my man, I loved you so!"

"One minute, Rachel!"

She lifted her head from the table. It was time. She needed to get out there and put on the best performance of her life.

She flipped the picture over and read what he had written on the back, "I love you, my star!- Finn."

She kissed the spot where he had written his name and then replaced the picture back into her purse.

It was time. It was time to be a star. For him.
