Excuse You

She glared up at him fully prepared for a fight. So what if he was like two inches taller than her? If she wanted to Artemis could hold her own against that stupid red-headed jerk, and possibly win if her cards were played right. Okay maybe she couldn't exactly win but that wouldn't stop her from trying.

She had enough trouble without this moron always getting in her way. Right now they were standing in the caves kitchen, Artemis with a sandwich and a butter knife in both her hands. Why was Red Arrow even here, he isn't part of the team. Besides it was probably two o`clock in the morning. She had just woke up hungry and decided to make a quick bite to eat before she went back to sleep. Then right in the middle of fixing her ham sandwich he showed up behind her just standing there.

"What are you doing here Mr. Solo?" She put down the knife and took a bite of her sandwich. Huh, not bad.

"What do you care?" Artemis gave him the 'are you stupid' look.

"Well for starters it's four in the morning-"

"Six in the morning."

"Whatever. I'm making a sandwich and you just show behind me."

"I don't have to tell you why I'm here."

"Well last time I checked you aren't part of the team."

"This isn't just your house, my friends are here to." He crossed his arms in front of his chest. The way he just said my friends really ticked her off. She had earned her spot on this team; he had no control over her in any way.

"News flash Speedy, they're my friends too."

"It's Red Arrow."

"Yeah real original by the way." She turned around and continued to finish making her sandwich.

"Where's KF I want someone decent to talk to."

"Again, six in the morning here." Right now she was too tired to come up with a good comeback.

"Are you always this cheerful?"

"Only when I really want someone to leave me alone."

"Oh I'm sorry your highness, I didn't realize I'm such a bother."

"You're forgiven." Artemis put the lunch meat and mustard back in the fridge. She started walking away.

"I was being sarcastic."

"I know so was I." There was no way she would be able to go back to sleep now, so she sat down on the couch and turned on the TV. Would that bozo stop following her? "Can't you take a hint?"

"I don't know can you?"

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Is Aqualad here?"

"On a mission with Aquaman. You know if you guys are such close friends then why don't you have any idea where they are?"

"All of us have been busy."

"If you're so busy go find something else to do besides annoy me."

"Fine."

"Fine."

"Good."

"Goodbye." With that Red Arrow walked out of the cave.

"Hey Artemis."

"Hi M'gann."

"I heard Red Arrow came to visit." Oh great.

"Yeah I was just making something to eat when he showed up. I guess he was looking for KF and Aqualad."

"Ok."

She didn't really care that much anyway. Ever since she became Green Arrow's new partner he had been watching her every move. Although the threat in the alley made her think about staying on the team, it didn't faze her at all. Just because he decided to go play the part of the big solo hero didn't mean that he had the right to intimidate her. The Team was her new family and she would rather die than give up the new friends she made.

For once in her life she felt happy. He could just jump off a bridge for all she cared.

"Look just because Red Arrow has been doing this longer than you doesn't mean we don't appreciate you. I suggest you just go with the flow and everything will work out."

"Thanks for the advice."

"Any time."

When she said she was happy, Artemis meant it. Kaldur, Conner, M'gann, Robin, and Wally were her best friends. And when she said Red Arrow could jump off a bridge, she meant that to.
