A five year old Chuck was sitting next to his father in their limo pouting. They were on their way to a party hosted by one of Bart Bass' business friends. "Why do I have to go? I don't even know these people," said an annoyed Chuck. "I already told you, their account is very important to our company. I don't want to lose it just because you feel like acting shy today. Now, that's the end of this discussion," said Bart.
When they arrived at the mansion they were escorted to where the party was being held. While Bart was talking with one of his business buddies Chuck wandered off somewhere to escape the boring party. He ended up at the balcony where he looked down on the city below.
While Chuck was busy observing the passing cars, a little girl the same age as him stepped onto the balcony. She quietly moved towards Chuck and when she was near enough she lightly tapped him on the shoulder. He quickly turned around and saw a little girl with a huge smile plastered on her face.
"Hi. I'm Erin. Erin Ravenhearst. What's your name?" said the little girl as she extended her hand for Chuck to shake.
"I'm Charles. Charles Bass," said the little boy as he shook her hand.
"Nice to meet you," she said as she shook his hand.
She spoke again after he let go of her hand.
"Do you have a nickname Charles?"
"My dad calls me Chuck sometimes," he answered.
"Okay. Can I call you Chuckie instead? Please," she said with a puppy dog pout.
"I don't see why not," he said giving into her.
"Great!" she exclaimed with extreme joy. Chuck couldn't help but smile at her exclamation.
"Do you want to go play with me?" she asked Chuck while still smiling.
"Sure," was Chuck's answer.
"Come on," Erin said as she grabbed hold of Chuck's hand and led him up the stairs to her playroom.
In the near distance Bart watched the two five year olds make their way up the stairs.
"I think this is the start of an interesting friendship," said the man next to Bart.
"I think you're right," said Bart while turning to the man who spoke, Michael Ravenhearst.
