*I do not own Percy Jackson, if I did...well then you can imagine that things would have gone a little differently.
A/N: For any of you who still follow my other stories I apologize for my lack of commitment. There was a lot going on and I'm not the most committed writer in the first place. So I will let it be known that for now this story is just a little dabbling, I'm not really sure if its going to become anything much.
*Story may be a little angsty and is NOT recommended for children
Sometimes Percy lay awake at night wondering what life could be like if he was somebody else. Anybody would be fine really. Even Harry Potter got his fairytale ending. Granted he was a fictional character but the idea was the same. Anything to escape his reality would work because for a little while he could pretend that he wasn't himself.
Percy didn't know who his father was, not his real father at least. He only knew that he was gone and his mother resented being left with him. His mother was called Sally Ugliano nee Jackson and his step-father was called Gabe Ugliano. They lived in a small apartment in Manhattan and Percy went to school at the nearby High School. He'd like to say that he was the most popular boy in school and that he had great grades to boot. But he couldn't...he had no friends, he was a loser. This "loser" status wasn't helped by the fact that Percy suffered from ADHD and Dyslexia. This also caused problems with his grades. Gabe and his mother expected Percy to get A's and he could only ever manage D's, lucky if he could scrape a C. He was grateful though to have a home to live in and food to eat, no matter what way he had to repay his mother and Gabe for it.
When some of the other kids at school talked about their first time it was always about how wonderful it was, no matter what amount of inexperienced fumbling occurred. Percy envied them that...his first time was on the old mattress in his bedroom with Gabe. He had been beaten to a bloody pulp for some reason or another and for the first time Gabe had decided to take things a step further. He was seven. He remembered his bloody lip, he remembered how the blood from his broken nose was flowing down his face and into his mouth leaving behind a coppery taste. Most of all he remembered the pain when Gabe took him, how much it hurt as he thrust into him, how much it always hurt.
Percy was sixteen now and Gabe usually came to him several times a week to be sure that Percy paid his due. Afterwards he always found himself wishing that he had somebody to love him, to protect him. He always envisioned being wrapped in a protective embrace, strong, warm arms wrapped around him shielding him from the harsh realities of the world. He wished that just once somebody would say "I love you" to him. And so that night as one lone tear fell from his eye, unwilling to be held back, he whispered that wish once again to an empty room. It just so happened that night his wish was heard as he drifted of to sleep, and Hermes Messenger of the Gods took pity on the boy. He knew the boy to be a demigod and so as he slept Hermes flit away with the boy to take him somewhere safe.
Daylight was breaking as Hermes arrived at the borders of Camp Halfblood with the battered boy. He deposited him just inside the barrier where he would be safe and would be quickly found then promptly disappeared.
A/N: I realized that I forgot to mention that if I manage to get that far that this story will be a Percy/Luke slash fic. Please review I'd like some opinions.
