So, here I am, easing back into the writer's life and doing a more or less shitty job of it. But well, I'm back and I leave you with this crappy one-shot. *Sigh* I'm sad to say that it's one of my better ones lately. Ummm, anyway. Without further ado, here you have it.
Disclaimer: Fortunately enough, I'm not responsible for Teen Wolf, just this shit one-shot I have decided to curse you with. Don't die.
He was such a cute baby. Though small and wrinkled, he was so beautiful. His small chest moving up and down as his lungs greedily captured all the oxygen they could.
Her mom was talking. She was saying something to her, but she couldn't hear anything besides her baby's breathing; couldn't focus on anything else that wasn't his pretty little fingers around her own and tiny little nose scrunching as if displeased by something.
₁"Meli, cómo se va llamar?," her sister asked from her position in Melissa's bed. She hadn't even felt Anita sit down by her feet. Finally looking up, she bit her lip. Rafa was beside her, smiling and teary eyed. He had let her choose the baby's name. Had said that since she would do all the work, she could choose the name that this small miracle would bear.
"Scott; Scott McCall Delgado," she managed to get out, her voice shaky and happy ₂"Mi pequeño guerrero"
Her mother nodded. The older woman didn't know what that name meant, but she knew that this name fit the child. It sounded strong; a name fit for the fighter that this boy was and that he would be.
Sniffling, Melissa beamed up at Rafael. They had created this tiny little being that even against all odds had fought for his life and had won. She couldn't be prouder of her son; her painted warrior.
₃"El guerrero pintado. Good one. I have a feeling that today is not going to be his first battle." Anita shot a smile at her sister. She knew that her sister believed her 'feelings' to be utter and complete ₄tonterias, but she could not keep that thought to herself, for it was true. The moment that Scott McCall came into the world, she knew that he would be a fighter and a protector.
"And will he be victorious?" Melissa asked, indulging her sister.
Years later, Melissa would ponder on the answer and wonder if her sister had really seen what was to come for Scott in his teen years. If Anita knew all the hardships that he would endure, and all the battles he would win and lose. If she knew that Scott would be turned into a creature that was both horrible and wonderful. And most of all, if she knew that Scott would be a not just warrior but protector.
"That, you will have to see for yourself. ₅Scott, es el guerrero pintado; Pintado por su destino"
Translations:
What will his name be?
My little warrior
The painted warrior
Nonsense
Scott is the painted warrior; Painted by his destiny
