The Art of Fate
Fate is inescapable. No one can live outside of what has been pre-determined. If fate allows love then it also forces separation. If fate grants mercy then it also wills massacres. If fate dreams of death then there truly is no escape.
Kō Shūrei is one of the more unfortunate of people. Her accomplishments are many and she is known throughout the land. The people adore her. Even those who dislike her cannot escape from admiring her. Her persistence and strength are of legend.
Shi Ryūki is the one who will suffer most from her misfortune. His unchanging vows of love are both his strength and weakness. He wants only the best for her yet can't escape selfish thoughts and wishes.
Both know of love within themselves. It is their fate to love one another. It is also their fate to walk separate paths. Her dreams and ideals and his duties and responsibilities lead them to two different places. She is incompatible with his world. He has no choice but to follow his until his end.
I love you – a closely guarded secret.
It is a secret for which there is only one path that they both shall walk.
When fate dreams its dreams transcend into life.
What more can life hold when there is only the fate to part?
Author's Note: I love Chinese Paladin. The third one is disappointing to me. I can't enjoy the third. The 'Fated to Part' theme is prevalent between Xú Chǎngqīng and Zǐ Xuān. I mean (Spoiler) she becomes mortal and he becomes immortal (Spoiler). I do believe that if you must go down another path from the one that you love you would be a coward to let go. If you both love one another then being apart is nothing more than an inconvenience. Anyway, that's enough of my pointless rambling! Thank you for reading my work! I do hope that you've enjoyed my story. I apologise if you aren't happy with my piece and I vow to improve always!
