Forever Longing
She wishes that he didn't love violins so much. It's a quick wish. She retracts it almost immediately every time. Then she locks herself away as punishment.
It's a cycle. Her family are used to the door being slammed though they don't understand the reason why. They know that she'll emerge. Her face will hold a wide grin. It's as though she has a secret plan that includes them all. They don't understand her and they don't try to. She is who she is and they'll always love her.
She has them. She has their love. She has a secret promise lingering in her heart. The promise is all that connects them. Her affections are of a genuine origin.
It's romantic – some could say; a novelist and a violin maker. Their long distance relationship is one of strength. She doesn't need to be in his presence. He doesn't need to be in hers. Their secret longing for one another is fleeting and rare. Both are busy people who are striving for their futures with few backward glances.
Though their longing is somewhat scarce their affections are not. They miss one another and can cry for the lack of the other's presence. The longing is locked away. Shizuku pours her emotions into her scripts and learns to smile afterwards. Seiji relinquishes his longing into the instruments he adoringly crafts and lives in his true heart at the fall of night.
As they sleep the lies and the distractions wear away. Both hearts are open to all that they have won, lost and earned. Their love is without hindrance until the time for the all too necessary distractions arises once more.
Author's Note: Aw… I'm so pleased. This is wonderful. I thought that this would be a complete and utter failure. The story makes sense! My heart is home to one less worry. Oh, but I realise that you may be disappointed. Narrative stories are quite common amongst these ones for me. The content is somewhat vague. I do hope very much that you have enjoyed my work. I thank you for the time that you have spared to read my story. I grant my apologies to all of you who are even slightly dissatisfied.
