Scare The Nightmare Away

I do not own Lab Rats, Disney does.

Bree Davenport thrashed and turned in her sleep, whimpering helplessly. Her mind was a battleground, and too small to fight what was invading it. She clutched her pink teddy bear for safety. Her mind growing more and more terrifying as screams escaped her lips like a horror show.

Douglas awoke from his sleep when he heard a sharp child scream, he looked to his sleeping wife who was sound asleep in her purple nightgown. Getting up from his bed, he followed the direction of the screams at a quickening pace.

Opening the door to his daughter's room, he rushed to her as her horrifying screams struck him. He held on to her, trying to calm her down.

"Daddy's here. Calm down, sweetie. Calm down. Daddy's here."Douglas smoothed her small head, trying to stop her from shaking.

"D-Daddy. Help me...Help!"Bree held onto his arm.

"I'm here sweetie. Don't cry. There's no monsters or bad men here. It's a nightmare your having. Just think about happy things. Like your mom baking you and your brother's cookies, or Christmas time when you get presents, or that time when I took you and Adam to a basketball game. Just scare the nightmare away."Douglas said softly. He wiped tears from her face and sweat from her forehead.

Bree was calming down, her whimpering ceased and she started to think about happy things. She thought about the time when her father took her and her brother, to the basketball game. She thought about the time when her mother baked them cookies for helping to clean up the house. She thought about Christmas times when her grandparents would come over and her grandmother always gave her lemon candy, her favorite. She thought about her favorite show, Hip Hop Harry. Thinking about these things brought ease to her small mind, and she was able to scare the nightmare away.
