A/N: What I thought was missing and should have happened. But you just have to think away the Foyet part of the episode here.. this is more about how Emily was dealing with the situation at the prison. This just came to mind after watching the episode..
Spoiler: "Outfoxed"
Disclaimer: I don't own them.
Fixing me, fixing you
She knew when she told him that there was no fixing how she felt right at that moment. Not right there, at the prison. She knew he wouldn't be able to comfort her there. He knew it as well. It wasn't the time or place to give comfort. They had to make the killer speak. Help solve the case.
A silent agreement was made when he looked at her pleading eyes when she told him. Those sad brown eyes looking up at him, he knew those all too well. She was always so honest with him. Honest about what she thought, making her statements, honest about what she felt. This particular situation being so hard on her.
He knew it would be tough.
He knew she would be able to handle it.
And he knew how she would be feeling afterwards.
He had fixed her feelings before. When she came to his apartment. Or she to his. That for him made it easier to take her with him. Knowing he could fix how she felt in the end. Making her feel better.
And that made him feel better.
When dealing with Foyet she had tried to fix his feelings. He was left broken and shattered after the attack in his home. His family being taken away. Leaving him alone, facing his inner demons. Those inner demons in his head being led by the biggest demon of them all.
And that one demon had yet to be caught.
She was the one that reminded him that he wasn't alone. Picked him up and drove him home again. Keeping him company.

Emily was in the locker-room, grabbing her bag before leaving the office. She slowly closed the door of her locker and leaned against it. Her head resting against the cold metal.
"Hey"
A little startled she turned to meet his gaze.
"Oh, hey Hotch"
She put her bag around her shoulder. Straightening her back a little.
"I was just about to head home", she said smiling sadly.
He didn't say anything and walked closer to her. He stood in front of her for a few seconds before speaking softly.
"You did good today Emily".
Subtly shaking her head she averted her gaze, glancing down to look at her feet.
"Why is it that I still don't feel that way", it came out as more of a sigh than anything else.
His hand reached for her bag. Gently removing it from her shoulder and putting it on the bench next to them. His hands coming back up to her shoulders, pulling her a little more towards him. She didn't resist, welcoming him in her personal space.
"C'mere"
And with that he hugged her close. Her head coming to rest against the crook of his neck and her arms wrapping around his back, gripping him tightly. He smoothed down the back of her hair with one hand. Slowly rubbing her back with his other.
He placed his mouth near her ear before whispering.
"Feeling better?"
She simply nodded.
