I don't own any PJO characters, nor do I own the song.
Making my way downtown
Walking fast
Faces pass
And I'm home bound
Annabeth had been looking for Percy for months, and she was coming closer to were he was. As she made her way through the huge crowds, she saw a scrap of cloth in her hands. Orange cloth.
Staring blankly ahead
Just making my way
making a way
Through the crowd
The people pushed and shoved around her as she reached the cloth. Success! She rubbed it in her hands and continued walking. Percy could have been here!
And I need you
And I want you
And now I wonder...
As she set up camp she remembered their fist quest. The animal van came to mind. "Cause I'm your friend, Seaweed Brain. Any more stupid questions?"she had said. But now he was more than that. Tears pricked her eyes. She needed him.
If I could fall
Into the sky
Do you think time
would pass me by?
Cause you I'd walk
A thousand miles
If I could
Just see you
Tonight
She wished he could be there. Everyone else said he was dead. He couldn't be. He had survived so much, and she was sure she could never except that he was gone. Why couldn't he be there with her?
It's always times like these
When I think of you
And wonder
If you ever
Think of me.
After Jason came to camp, she learned that Percy was probably at the Roman Camp. Did he remember her? No he couldn't have. He lost his memories. But still, she could hope.
Cause everything's so wrong
And I don't belong
Living in your
Precious memory
Everything was harder without Percy. She never felt included anymore, like she was an outsider. She lived in her memories of him now as she searched for him. He was a part of her.
A few months later...
The Argo was ready. The search was over. What if the plan didn't work? What if the romans blew them out of the sky? What if Percy wasn't there? what if he was dead? What if he had a new girlfriend? No. You are a daughter of Athena. You can't afford to have thoughts like that. It'll work fine.
And it did. Mostly. Percy was back. He didn't have a new girlfriend. And best of all, he had remembered her! He never forgot. Never.
