Jay was in the hospital. He didn't know why, but Kai was sitting next to him, looking bored out of his mind so he assumed it wasn't anything serious. He sat up slightly, tapping Kai on the shoulder to stop him from spinning his chair, Kai would never admit it, but he let out a very mouse-like squeak.

"You scared me!"

"Why the hell am I here?" Jay asked.

"You had an asthma attack, right in front of me. Dude, I almost died, I think my heart nearly stopped." Kai explained.

Jay rolled his eyes, "I was the one who almost died."

"True."

Their conversation was interrupted by a smooth voice, "Jay Walker?"

Jay looked over and all he could think was 'what the hell, this guy is the cutest thing I have ever seen'. He had sharp, but soft features. He was pale and had the lightest shade of blonde hair that Jay had ever seen. Despite being seven feet tall, Jay roughly estimated, he didn't have a very strong presence in the room. He looked like he could beat Jay to a pulp, but in reality would cry if he accidentally stepped on an ant.

"Yeah, that's me." Jay said. If stars could show in his eyes he's pretty sure they'd be showing in his.

The man smiled and Jay's asthma almost kicked in again, "It is wonderful to see you awake. Your friend was in quite the emotional state when I first saw you."

Kai made a noise of disbelief and betrayal, Jay silently laughed and looked at the name tag on the man's shirt, 'Zane Julien, RN'. Jay thought Zane fit the man perfectly.

"Am I okay to go?" Jay asked, watching in awe as Zane checked his vitals.

"Soon, but not now. Doctor's orders." Zane answered, tugging his stethoscope off of his shoulders, "May I listen to your lungs?"

Jay jerked his head in what seemed to be a nod, too afraid that if he said anything his voice would break. 'Why is this guy making me feel funny, I just met him and I'm pretty sure Nya still has a thing for me - ', his thoughts were cut off as Zane pressed the stethoscope to his chest.

Zane was really close to him, so close that Jay could count every single eyelash on his blue eyes. 'Every single eyelash? Really, Jay?' Jay thought to himself, confused at his sudden infatuation with Zane Julien.

Zane looked up and smiled and Jay swore to God that he did not wheeze, but Kai was there as a witness and he would never live this down as long as Kai was still alive.

"Your lungs sound okay now. I believe you should take some medication, however. Just in case you have another attack." Zane said, writing something down on his clipboard.

"O - okay." Jay's voice cracked, just like he suspected. He glared at Kai, who was trying very hard to hold in his laughter.

Zane turned to Kai, "You should be able to go soon. Again, I'm sorry we couldn't get you in sooner, I know how upset you were."

"It's fine. I'm glad he's alright. Thank you for your help." Kai said, bowing in a formal fashion to express his gratitude. Jay had almost forgotten they were in Japan and that was the norm.

Zane nodded, bowed just slightly, smiled once more and left the room. Jay watched him leave with metaphorical stars in his eyes and the sound of Kai snorting to his right.
