The Beginning and The End

Obito was silent, it was night time and the stars and moon were out. The 'dead' man was leaning against a tree, staring at the sky, thinking. Usually, thinking hurt, not in the stupid sense, but in the sense that he was still enough to remember old scars.

Suddenly, Rin's smiling face was in the moon. Just as quickly, the face was bloody and filled with horror, and then the moon was hidden by the clouds. Obito flinched and looked away, closing his eyes.

"I'll kill you," Obito whispered. "I'll kill you for what you did Kakashi."

A single tear slipped out of his left, scarred sharingan, trailing down his face. Obito brought his hand to his face, hiding the tears, and bit his lip to keep silent.

'Obito you crybaby.'

Obito gritted his teeth, biting through his lip, exchanging the mental pain for physical pain.

"Fuck you Kakashi."

"Obito please!" Kakashi begged, "I never stopped thinking about you or Rin! I've always felt guilty for what happened that day!"

Obito sneered, doing hand signs. "Why should I give a shit?! Fire style: Phoenix Immortal Jutsu!"

Kakashi dodged the bird made of fire and ash, running towards the troubled man. They met kunai against kunai. It was just them now, nothing around them counted as they looked into the eye of the man they were fighting to the death.

"Obito you're my friend," Kakashi said desperately.

"I have no friends!" Obito roared, kicking the silver nin away. "All my life I've known pain! I have no friends! I have no family! I have no one!"

Kakashi stared sadly. "Those who don't follow the rules are trash, but those who abandon their comrades are worse than trash."

"I won't allow my comrades to die. I'll protect you with my life. Trust me."

Kakashi silently made a vow. "I will never go back on my word, that's my nindo too Naruto," he whispered.

Obito ran forward, charging his hand with the chidori he stole. Kakashi silently braced himself. Close. Closer.

Just inches away, Kakashi moved. Obito couldn't react in time as his hand shot clear through Kakashi's side. Kakashi ignored it and gathered his friend in his arms, hugging him. Obito's eyes widened.

"Ka… Kakashi," He handed expected to hit him.

Kakashi smiled, the corner of his lips visible in the rips of his mask. "Obito," he replied, blood falling from his mouth.

Obito slowly glanced at him. "Why…" he whispered.

Kakashi shrugged painfully. "Friends hug," he murmured. "Never got the chance before."

Slowly, obit frozen stiff, Kakashi slid off the out stretched hand. Obito stared.

He'd done it. He'd finally killed Kakashi; he'd gotten his revenge on Konoha. He'd avenged Rin.

What now…
