I sighed as I watched another bar fight. There had been about five of them so far tonight. The locals were in an even better mood than usual. The more fights, the happier they were.
Then, someone that I knew, that I had loved (and still do) walked in.

We had first met here, in this tavern. He had been trying to get his bag back from some guy, and I was, and am again, a barmaid. But we were mere teenagers then.

He got that silly grin on his face, as he spotted me again. He sauntered over, grabbing a rum from a drunk on his way over to the counter.

"Fancy you being here. Thought you were with yer mum."
"Was." I corrected. "We had a fight and I jumped ship here."
"See ya got yer old job back."
"Yeah, but I hate it." I sighed.
Suddenly, his face lit up with a mischievous grin. I pointed my finger at him. I knew that look. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close.
"Then, come with me. There's room on the Pearl." He whispered, his dark, kohl-lined eyes begging me to come.
