This is my first story on this site and maybe the only one I submit.
This is just my take on how I'd like to see Arya come back to Westeros. I've only seen up to the end of the second season of the TV series and only read the first book, I got about twenty pages into the second and put it down. That was about three or four months ago and I haven't picked it up since, actually that a lie, I did pick it up but only to move it out of the way.
I don't know if Arya's come back in the books yet but like I said this is just how I'd like to see it.
Hope you enjoy it.
Arya's Return
The night was cold and quiet as rain fell lightly on King's Landing, wetting the muddy and cobbled streets. Patrols of Lannister soldiers march through the streets at regular intervals, their deep red cloaks ruffling with each step. A cloaked figure moved stealthily between the buildings leaving no sound in their wake, flitting in and out of the shadows like a wraith.
One soldier trailed slightly behind the three other members of his group, his groin being the reason it burnt with each step he took. It must've been the whore he'd fucked before reporting for duty, he'd have to go back after the patrol and teach the bitch a lesson.
He stepped into an alleyway to try and relieve himself of the annoyance, as he started to undo the buckle of his belt he caught something flicker past his periphery. Fixing his belt he went to investigate, halfway down the alleyway his hand came to rest on the hilt of his sword.
He ventured further still until he was at the end of the alleyway, looking left and right he was nothing except for an animal crouched amongst the garbage. The soldier shrugged and started to unbuckle his belt once more.
Something dropped onto his back from the rooftops, forcing him to the ground. The soldier let out a startled yelp as he fell, he looked over his shoulder and saw the cloaked figure getting up from a crouch, standing on top of his shoulders keeping him pinned down. The soldier began to call for help but his cry was cut off by a flicker of silver light slashing through his throat. The soldier started to convulse as his life drained away, the figure stepped off the soldier's back stooping to use the soldiers cloak to wipe the blood from their sword. The soldier's blood was diluted by the rain and soaked up by the mud as the life faded from his eyes.
The animal the soldier had seen padded out of the shadows and nudged the figure, it was a Direwolf, without looking the figure reached out and stroked the Direwolf's grey fur. Hearing footsteps at the end of the alleyway the figure looked over their shoulder and met the gaze of the remaining members of the soldier's patrol.
The figure turned slowly and threw back their hood revealing the face of a young girl, no more than 13. She watched as the soldiers in front of her drew their swords, the hiss of the blades against the scabbards barely reached her ears as it mingled with the low tapping of the rain.
A feral grin crossed the girl's thin lips as the voice of her first 'dance' teacher asked her a question she readily answered.
"Not today." The girl whispered to herself as she ran forward with the Direwolf at her heels.
That's all I've got.
Let me know what you think.
