Prologue
A man in a black car parked across a mansion on the most well known street on Lima, Ohio, stared into his binoculars, looking at a young brunette girl across the street. She leaned in to give her two dads a few pecks on the cheek at the door, before waving goodbye and making her way to her car. The tiny girl climbed into the car and pulled away from the driveway. The man watched as the two dads made their way inside, closing the door behind them. He quickly put the car into drive and followed the tiny pink mini not to far ahead. He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and quickly retrieved it.
"Puckerman."
"Did you finish the job?" the voice on the phone asked.
The man in the car looked at his watch. 7:55 a.m. "I'm on it. 5 minutes."
"Make it quick." And then the voice hung up.
Two minutes later, the mini stopped in the parking lot of William McKinley High School. The lot was still empty, only two cars parked there. The tiny brunette stepped out of her car, carrying a pink trolley bag covered with gold stars. She made her way towards the school; happy she got to school early enough to get some vocal exercise in before homeroom. She stopped in her tracks, grabbing the iPod she stashed in the front pocket of her bag, putting the pair of headphones into her ear. She began to hum to the song playing as she continues on her walk. And then suddenly…
Black.
8:00 a.m.
Nobody saw it. Nobody saw a man with a Mohawk carrying a tiny, unconscious, brunette girl in a skirt over his shoulder making his way to his black car that morning.
