Bored. Yamaguchi was sitting on the bench at the park, alone. He was supposed to hang out with Tsukishima and Oikawa today but they both were late.
"Where are they," Yamaguchi wondered out loud. He leaned against the bench and looked up at the sky.
He stood up, it was too hot to keep waiting outside even though it was the end of March. He closed his eyes and sighed. When he opened them he almost jumped back, there were two bouquets of two different roses in his face. He stepped back and looked at who were holding the bouquets.
"Yama-chan I got you roses~" Oikawa chimed. He was holding red roses.
"Yamaguchi, here." Tsukishima said. He was holding light pink roses.
Oikawa and Tsukishima gave each other glares. Oikawa was positive Yamaguchi would accept his roses and not Tsukishima's so he smirked. Tsukishima, noticing the smirk, frowned.
Yamaguchi stood in between the two, not by choice, he didn't like being in the middle of the glare-off or whatever type of fight you would call this. "Guys, I don't even have a vase at home for the roses so I can't really accept them, sorry."
Oikawa and Tsukishima at the same time shoved the bouquet of roses into Yamaguchi's arms and raced off to buy a vase. An unspoken battle had started, whoever was to buy the vase first and give it to Yamaguchi would win and spend the day with Yamaguchi on a date.
The other would have to leave and not interrupt them on their date.
Yamaguchi looked at the roses. They were nice; however, it being shoved into Yamaguchi's arms made some of the roses lose their petals. There were two different colored petals on the ground. "What a pity, they are so pretty but they need to be taken cared of otherwise they will die quicker." Yamaguchi then realized he was alone. He decided to wait at the café across the street from the park. He walked inside and sat down near the window setting his roses down and then ordered a latte.
Tsukishima and Oikawa both entered different shops at the same time. They both bought a vase. Oikawa bought a blue one and Tsukishima bought a clear one. They ran to the park where the empty bench was.
Tsukishima and Oikawa were panting. "Where's Yama-chan?" Asked Oikawa.
"He probably wanted to get away from you," Tsukishima said after he caught his breath.
"Ha, very funny" Oikawa sarcastically said.
Tsukishima looked around and saw Yamaguchi through the window at the café. He pointed in the opposite direction with his free hand that was not holding the bag with the vase in it, "There he is!" He ran to the café when Oikawa looked at where he had pointed.
"Hey! That was a dirty move!" Oikawa yelled as he chased Tsukishima.
Yamaguchi was wondering what all the yelling outside the café was from. He looked up out the window. He only registered three things:
The first was that Oikawa was chasing Tsukishima, they both were holding bags.
The second was that Oikawa grabbed Tsukishima making Tsukishima fall.
And the final thing that registered in his mind was that Tsukishima might had gotten hurt so he ran out of the café, carrying his two bouquets of roses, and rushed to Tsukishima's side.
"Tsukki! Are you okay?"
Tsukishima sat up and looked at his hand to check for any wounds. His hands were only red nothing hurt, "Yeah," he replied to Yamaguchi and glared up at Oikawa.
Oikawa tapped his own head and said: "Oops. Sorry about that." He acted cute.
"Oikawa I can't believe you did that," Yamaguchi frowned up at the brunette.
"But- I got you something," He took the vase out of his bag, "I got a vase for the roses."
"I got you one too but," Tsukishima looked at the ground where the bag was. He grabbed it and pulled out a broken piece of glass.
"It's okay Tsukki," Yamaguchi helped Tsukishima get up. "Let's just spend the day together. Alone."
Oikawa, shocked, stood there as if he was stone. He lost.
"See you next time, Oikawa." Tsukishima smirked. He knew their next battle he would win too.
Yamaguchi and Tsukishima walked away. All Oikawa was left with was the roses he gave Yamaguchi, petals from them, and the shattered glass from the vase. Irritated from losing he took the bag with the vase in it and threw it down at the concrete ground.
All he was left with was roses, petals, and broken vases. No Yamaguchi.
