Art thou afeard?
So I obviously don't own TMM or Macbeth, I just used a quote from it. Please enjoy! Implied PaixLettuce.
The usual attack scene played out before the three aliens; a chimera was destroying a local park, and the Mews shortly came bounding around the corner, calling out their transformations and catch phrases, etcetera, same old, same old. Honestly, Pai found it all rather boring, he'd much rather be in his lab...
Soon enough they were all engaged in combat and Pai found himself battling Mew Lettuce. Despite his hatred for the humans, he had become quite fascinated by the green Mew, and he wasn't exactly sure why, which irritated him.
They fought hard, and he had to admit that she was quite strong, but he was stronger. She fell to the ground on her back as he towered over her small frame, poised to strike. He wanted to see her eyes widen, watch as the fear filled them, and observe what the true face of terror looked like before he delivered the final blow. But her eyes didn't widen, they didn't fill with fear, instead she put on a brave face, took a shaky breath, and looked him dead in the eye.
"Art thou afeard, to be the same in thine own act and valour, as thou art in desire?"
"I dare do all that may become a man; who dares do more is none."
"Then why haven't you killed me yet?"
He stood, still frozen in position, struck by what she had just said. Why hadn't he killed her yet? Why was he still standing there?
He didn't have much more time to dwell on this as he was blasted back by a sudden burst of pink energy. He picked himself up and saw Mew Ichigo running over to check if Lettuce was okay. He noticed that their Chimera had been destroyed and he floated above the scene with his brothers. Kisshu made some quip about the Mews getting lucky this time and then all three of them teleported back to their base.
Pai immediately locked himself away in his lab with a short warning to his comrades that he was not to be disturbed, probably getting an eye-roll in reply.
His conversation with Lettuce played over and over in his head, throwing up questions about his ability in the field. No, no, there's nothing wrong with his field work, everything was fine. They why did he hesitate?
After what felt like hours of this internal quarrel, he realised that there was only one explanation for what had happened: his... interest in her-scientifically speaking- held him back from destroying her, because he wanted to examine her, figure her out so to speak. She was a puzzle; the most interesting and most difficult one Pai had ever come across. Maybe one day he'd get the chance to put her pieces together, but for now he just had to accept that they were at war, and he had to fight her, until somebody won.
-That was pretty short but I had to get it out, hope you enjoyed it!
Review please darlings; let me know what you think!
