In the sky, the moon and the stars are cover by dark clouds.
It´s been a week since you said it, it´s the same hour also.
We had made love and I thought you were slept, so I went to my studio to look at some new clues about Slade.
Little time had passed when you appeared on the door covered with a blanket, your dark hair over your shoulders. I smiled and opened my arms to held you, but you looked cold and distant, just like you were before.
When I asked you if there was something wrong, I didn´t expect your answer: us. Could there were something wrong about us, when you were the best thing in my life? When we loved each other?... I didn´t know that you were mad about my obsession with work until that night... the night you left.
You left me nailed to the floor with your reproaches, senseless, uncapable of doing something while you were leaving.
When I react, it was too late to stopped you. I could have gotten angry with you, but I didn´t do it, because everything you said was true. I was too busy fighting against crime to take care of our relationship. I always knew I was too worried about my duty, but I didn´t know how much until I lost the most important thing in my life... you.
Now I just want you to know that I had understood it already. Our relationship it´s the most important thing. My destiny is being a hero, my duty is helping inocent people and chase criminals. But if I live just for that, I´ve lost all that matters. The line that sets Slade and I apart begins and ends with you and the others I love and fight for.
Saddly, I realized of that when I lost you.
I close my eyes and sigh. When I open them I feel better because now I know how to live my life. A star smiles me among the clouds and you put your arms around me.
