Author's Note: I noticed that Zoso didn't really have any fanfiction's, so I wrote this one, to kind of make up for the fact that most people just forget about him.
Ebony paces around her and her father's room in the Duke's castle. It wasn't very large, it had two small, uncomfortable beds, a door that locks from the outside and a small window, barely big enough to fit two arms through, that overlooked the stables. Her thought were on her father, Zoso the Dark One, who should've been back by this time.
Her thoughts are interrupted by the sound of the door unlocking. The door opens and someone, dressed completely in black, walks in, the door then slams shut and the lock clicks in place. The person that came into the room walks over to one of the beds and sits down.
Ebony sits on the other bed, "Papa! I've been worried. It's almost an hour past curfew."
"I had some business I had to attend to." Zoso says.
"I thought you had done something wrong and something had happened..." Ebony says.
"Why would you think that?" Zoso asks.
"I've heard the Duke's threats...I know what would happen if you tried to disobey...I thought maybe he had done something and you weren't gonna come back..." She says, a few tears running down her face.
"I would never leave you here alone." Zoso says, he hated to see his daughter like this. He knew that if he hadn't become the Dark One, she wouldn't have this life.
"Right..." Ebony says, wiping the tears from her face. "We're gonna leave here together and we'll both be free."
"That was the plan..." Zoso says.
"What do you mean was? That is the plan." Ebony says, slightly confused.
"You were right, it's past curfew. You should get some rest." Zoso says, wanting to change the subject.
Ebony sighs, knowing her father was hiding something. "Right..." She says, crawling under the one blanket she had. "Goodnight, Papa. I love you." As soon as her head hits the pillow she falls asleep.
Zoso sighs, his plan was all falling into place. Soon his daughter would be free from the Duke and she would be able to live her life, but at the cost of he's life. He just hoped that she would forgive him when the time came.
