...mean she has to prepare reports. Which is not a very exciting idea if you ask her. Then again, she reserves some subjects to discuss with herself in her mind these nights.
Like this: What if she never met the Elric Brothers? Or what if she didn't have this great ability of remembering each word of every book she has read?
Had she been unable to help the Elric brothers, would it all turn out better? Or worse?
She doesn't know the answer to that and her curiousity is unsatisfied as ever. She dreams of a different world, like the ones in the countless fantasy books she has read and thinks of a different outcome. What if Elric brothers couldn't find the code hidden in Tim Marcoh's books? She still doesn't get how they found a code in all those recipes, anyway. Was Edward serious about finding the information there? Or had he found another lead and lied to Sciezska so she didn't feel useless? That is a very nice thought, and brings a smile to her lips.
She likes these late nights, to be perfectly honest. She is all by herself in the large office (Mr. Hughes is always gone; he has a family, after all) and she can think, contemplate on things taking place in her life. She can just stop and make side comments on events (she has a photographic memory), even for the smallest and least important ones like shopping for food. She can think about everything: life, death, meaning, even alchemy! And she can worry for her mother and the Elric Brothers who changed her life for better as much as she wants. She can... just think. Merely exist - without all the burdens to carry and the worries to push around in her mind if she wants. She can...
Then she sighes. The dawn is breaking and she has to finish categorizing all these reports. Ah, why did she ever accept this job anyway? This is all a nightmare, working so hard until she is sure her eyes will turn blind! Why does she have to do this?! She could've been reading her books at home - what happened to Lady Van Tassel? Is she really the one who killed Sir Van Tassel so she can be with her lover? Or was it the maid Clara who wanted to avenge her father? Oh, she really wonders what will happen in the end!
Another sigh, and Sciezska tries to ready herself to finish reading another report. Hopefully this one won't be so gross...
