The moment he saw her those years ago, Sesshoumaru knew he would always love her. He tried to deny the foreign feelings that seemed to consume his thoughts. Nothing short of her death would put an end to it. Though he was not sure even that would stop the need for her.
The woman had beautifully deep rich black hair, that fell to just below her curvaceous backside. Her attire was strangely indecent, but they sparked more of his curiosity.
Kagome's eyes always held her emotions. One of her many flaws. But those blue eyes that reminded him of the sapphires he gifted her with was the portal to her soul. Her eyes which held the oceans of this world, captured him and lured him, with no means of escape.
Those same eyes held the memories of the their past.
They sat together in front of the cool ocean on a hot afternoon day. Her shoes and socks casted aside, as her small toes played with the sand.
She smiled and closed her eyes as the waves reached the small appendages now covered in mud. Leaning forward she grabbed a small handful of the mud and began making circular shapes that held a small resemblance to ball.
Sesshoumaru snorted at the young woman's antics and turned his head. Kagome rolled her eyes. His silver pristine hair flowing in the salty ocean breeze. He was beautiful.
He felt something soft and damp hit the back of his head as he heard the woman beside him scramble to get up and run away.
Kagomed laughed when she saw him with a look of shock and hidden amusement in his eyes. A flash of light and a gush of wind was felt by Kagome as she was lifted off her feet.
"NO! Sesshoumaru! I'm sorry!" Kagome squeaked as she tried to wiggle out of Sesshoumaru's arms as he held her over the open water.
He smirked at the small woman who seemed to fit perfectly in his arms and leaned. Their noses touched as she felt his breath on her lips.
"Too late," as he dropped her into the salty blue ocean.
Their love was forbidden. Her purity and innocence was not meant to be held with in someone's cold grasp such as his. His coldness and stoic personality would push her away, making her life unbearable.
He would not demean himself by mating a human and she could not mate her best friends brother. Sesshoumaru could not give her the happiness she deserved. Kagome would not be able to uphold the title of The Western Lady.
He watched her from afar. Loving her when it was forbidden. He watched her save the world, watched his moronic half brother realize it was too late to be with her.
Her small frame of a childish teenager bloomed into a beautiful woman and slowly crept into old age, all before his stood still for the youkai lord. Never aging, an immortal in the world of man. The hands of time gifted his lover with the beauty of life but the curse of death.
Sesshoumaru gave her all he was able to. A life with out him. At the same time she gave him her heart, body and soul. Their love would be timeless and eternal. Only to be known at arms length.
