Jack Frost Saved My Life

I liked being a Guardian, playing with kids whenever winter rolled around. But I did want a taste of life back. Jamie and his friends were great kids and all, but they reminded me too much of my sister Sally and my friends from three hundred years ago. But there was one day that everything changed. Something I immediately thought was my imagination but it was too real.

I was in the having a snowball fight with Jamie and his friends, they were having the time of their lives, as usual. Their moms called them all in and I was about to head over to the next town when something hit me in the back of the head. I knew what it was of course, a snowball, but there wasn't anyone left to throw it when I looked back.

Except for a girl.

She looked about my age (at time of death), so if she could've seen me, it'd've been a miracle. She was sitting on a park bench tossing a snowball with one hand absently while reading a small book with the other. Her hair was almost white, but it was still blond. She was dressed in a blue overcoat and a teal skirt… that I could see, along with snowboots and gloves.

"Alright," she mumbled. "Let's try this again," she threw the snowball but looked up just in time to realize where it was going. I swatted the chunk of ice away with my bare hand. She got up and rushed somewhere in my direction stopping in front of me.

"I'm so sorry!" she said bowing. "I guess I should look where I throw those things!" this was confusing. I looked around to see if there was someone else she could be talking to. "Why are you barefoot?" I slowly and in staggered motion turned my head back to the girl.

"Um… you can see me?" she slowly rose from her apologetic bow to look me eye to silver eye. Before she could answer, another girl's voice came from behind me.

"Elsa!" a girl with red hair tied in braids ran through me. She was wearing a green skirt and a pink coat. "We need to get home, we're going to the Chocolate House!" the other girl, Elsa, was just staring at me wide eyed. I decided to hop on the wind and get out of there before it got weird. For some reason the wind decided to die down near the Chocolate House restaurant… wait… didn't that girl, Elsa's sister say they were coming here? Oh very funny!

The wind refused to pick me up again so I was stuck at the restaurant for twenty minutes before I realized I never saw those girls going in or coming out. I did notice some smoke coming off the street down the road… oh no. I had to run to the smoke before the wind picked me up and dropped me off at the site of a car accident. Elsa and her sister were outside of the crash, thank Manny. But I heard cries coming from inside the cars. I touched the girls on the shoulder, handing my staff to Elsa.

"Leave it to me!" I rushed in, froze the fires and pulled out three people… one of whom smelled like vodka. I put them next to the girls as the cars… exploded. "Don't drink and drive, especially on a snow day," I said before flying off.
