"Say mama, say mama!"

"No, say papa!" The young couple urged their child as they sat him on their laps. He was just 6 months old, and already, he was babbling like a full grown child. "Mama, Harry, mama!" The redhead woman grinned, bouncing the infant on her lap slowly, as if to pep him to say the word. "Papa, Harry, papa!" The young man said, pushing the infant's hair out of his face, out of his sparkling green eyes.

"If you say papa, I'll get you plenty of presents for your first birthday!" the young man bribed, seeing as if his offer will make the infant go with his will. His wife scowled and looked at him.

"No bribery, James!" she squeaked, giggling as he blew a kiss on her soft cheek. All Harry did was giggle and squirm in their arms.

"Papa!"

"Mama!"

"Dad!"

"Mum!"

"Daddy"

"Mommy!"

The young couple fussed their child mindlessly. The child remained silent, and looked at them with glowing eyes.

"Mummy, please!"

"Daddy, come on!"

"Padfoo!" the infant squirmed, giggling at the sight of a man walking into the living room. "Padfoosh!" he giggled, as Sirius picked him up.

James and Lily both scowled as their child just said his godfather's nickname, and not one of theirs. "What got your knickers in a twist?" Sirius laughed, rocking the infant in his arms. "He just said his first word, and it was Padfoot." James sulked, looking at his best friend wildly. "Lighten up, Prongs! At least he talked!"

"Fine. Padfoot it is." Lily said, carefully writing the word into the babybook under the words "first word". Sirius smiled as he looked at his godson.

"Moomie, Wormwail, Padfoo, Pwangs! Mawaders!" The baby slurred with his small voice, unable to pronounce the real words themselves. The adults laughed and looked at their son/godson. "What else can you say, Harry?" Sirius smiled, looking at the young child.

"Snivellus."
