It was today or never. Nervously, Scorpius pushed his glasses and checked his appearance for the thirtieth time. Anxiously he ran his pale long, elegant fingers through his long platinum blonde hair. It was a bad idea, his mind began to wander as he imagined her fingers running through his hair.
"You ready mate?" Came a voice from the hallway.
Scorpius turned to see his best mate, Albus Potter.
"I… um… yes?" Scorpius asked hesitantly.
"What that attitude, you'd be lucky if she didn't kick your ass before leaving your sorry arse." Albus smirked.
Scorpius deflated at that.
"I don't think I can do this mate. One of us is wrong in the head, probably me. She's so vibrant, full of life. I'm plain and boring."
"Bloody hell mate! Don't you go sappy on me."
"I can't help it! Why on earth would someone like Rose Weasley go out with me?"
"Because I love you, and you make me happy, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." That was not Al.
Scorpius turned quickly to see just where the voice came from, and his breath caught in his throat.
She wore only one piece of jewelry, a simple diamond flower surrounded by emerald petals. He had given it to her for her fifteenth birthday and she had never taken it off since.
Her dress was strapless, showing off her endless freckles, and perfectly smooth skin. The dress went all the way down to her feet and was a flowing sea of white. The top part of he dress was form fitting, but that was not what caught his attention.
She had tamed her wild red curls, but they still were evident, framing her lovely face and brown eyes. Her make-up was light, and enhanced her features well. Atop her head was a crown of daisies with a transparent white veil that fell all the way down to her waist.
She was beautiful, and in less than an hour she would be his.
"Well, if you're done oogling my cousin, I'll go inform everyone that we don't need a foot heater after all."
