I Heart Kid
-.-
She was being cheeky, he decided, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand, just like his other two companions. Simply cheeky.
Because there was no way Nakamori Aoko, his childhood best friend, the girl he wanted to spend the rest of his life with—not that she knew—and anti-Kid supporter was wearing that.
It must be kind of a joke or maybe he had finally reached insanity. Kuroba Kaito could not decide.
"Is Aoko-san actually wearing what I think she's wearing?" Kudo Shinichi asked from the left.
"If you see it, Kudo, then my eyes aren't deceiving me, ne?" Hattori Heiji responded from the right.
Both looked at Kaito, who was simply blinking, watching as Aoko neared them. She was in between Mouri Ran and Toyama Kazuha—the three laughing brightly.
Above Aoko's long-sleeved, blue shirt was another short-sleeved, white shirt. It was very commonplace, really, but it was the words imprinted on it that made Kaito decide that she was being cheeky.
I Heart Kid was written in bold black, except for the heart which was a deep, blood red. She wasn't wearing it when he had picked her up this morning, so she must have purchased it from one of the stores she and the girls ran off to a couple of hours ago.
But why did she buy it? Aoko hated Kid, right? Even though things calmed down considerably after the fall of the organization and he had already explained everything to her, she was angry. After long, tearful conversations between them, they were able to get through this crisis and regain their friendship—stronger than before.
And they had promised that they wouldn't allow his alter ego to come between them anymore. So why…?
"Sorry we kept you waiting." Ran smiled apologetically.
"Everything was just so beautiful it was hard to choose right away." Kazuha laughed, eyes twinkling as she turned to Aoko. "Ne, Aoko-chan?"
Aoko grinned cheekily.
Kaito wanted to hug her and run to the opposite direction at the same time.
"Ano, Aoko-san…" Heiji began, eyeing her white shirt. "Um…"
"Eh?" she cocked her head to the side, perplexed.
"Where did you get the shirt from?" Shinichi finally voiced out, his curiosity getting the better of him. Besides, Kuroba looked like he needed a few more minutes for his brain to function again.
Aoko grinned as Ran and Kazuha tried in vain to cover their giggles.
"Oh. It was a small shop, really. It sold funny stuff." Aoko shrugged. "Thought it would be fun."
Catching the look on her childhood friend's face, Aoko's grin was replaced with a concerned look.
"Are you mad at me?" she questioned, softly. "It was just for fun, Kaito. It doesn't mean—"
But she was cut off. Kaito strode forward, cupped her upper arms, and pulled her towards him, kissing her hard. She only had time to blink before she was responding just as enthusiastically to his sudden actions.
The guys gaped.
The girls squealed.
Kaito pulled away, breathing heavily. "Kid hearts you, too."
Aoko smiled.
The End! :)
Note: So, what do you think? Your opinion matters the most! :)
Till next time.
Take care. :D
