I do not own any charcaters just the plot.

Goodbye is all we have.

The sun shone over the orchard. It was early morning. He had to go, he had to. There was no way he was going to let Ron and Hermione go with him. He also wanted to leave before anyone got up and persuaded him to stay yet another day at the burrow. He had stayed for Bill and Fleurs' wedding. He was jealous, envious that Ron had Hermione, and Bill had Fleur and Arthur had Molly. And now Remus had Tonks. Everyone had someone they loved but he couldn't have anyone because they would become a target as much as he was. Harry had pushed the only person he really, truly cared for away. He couldn't bear her being in any danger again. Harrys' heart tore apart as he remembered her dark eyes flicker dangerously as he told her he had to leave her, her eyes where so intense. He didn't want to leave her.

Gods, if he could, he would marry her now. But he couldn't lose anyone else at the hands of Voldermort or one of his followers. He couldn't live if she died.

"Harry?" said a voice behind him.

Harry knew that voice, that same small questioning tone he had heard everyday since Dumbledores' funeral.

Harry turned around. There in golden glow of the sunrise stood his light, his angel with a fiery halo and dark secretive eyes.

"Ginny." breathed Harry. "Go back to the house, I will be in in a moment-."

"No! Your not going to come back in if I leave." Said Ginny, her voice trembling. "Your leaving aren't you?"

Harry looked at Ginny. Her hair slightly mussed up from her sleep. Her eyes bright, as she fought to hold back tears. In the light of the morning, to Harry, she had never looked more beautiful than she did now. Harry hadn't the heart to lie to her.

"Yes I am." Said Harry, his hands trembling. "Please Ginny, understand I have to do this."

"Then let me go with you." Cried Ginny.

Harry could feel his heart breaking; he knew deep down if he could, he would have taken her away with him. But he couldn't.

"Ginny, no. I can't take you with me. There are things I don't want to let you see." Said Harry firmly.

"I'm not a little girl anymore Harry!" cried Ginny fiercely. " I have fought Death Eaters, I was there when Greybeck attacked my brother! I can handle this. Please don't leave me!"

Harry couldn't stand watching Ginny fight her own emotions. She didn't have to prove she was brave. He knew she was.

Harry swept her small frame into his arms and held her tight. Harry could feel her shake; his heart broke as she fought to keep her cries silent.

He let her go and took a step back. Her eyes were bright from crying.

"I have to go." Said Harry finally. " I promise I will be back."

Harry took out an envelope out of his pocket and held it out towards Ginny.

Ginny hesitated.

"It's a note for you but you can only open it once I have gone." Replied Harry, answering her subconscious question.

Ginny took the envelope from Harrys' hand the fingers lingering over each other's.

Harry walked over to her. Lifting her head and softly placed a kiss on her cheek where a tear had settled.

" I love you Ginerva Weasley."

"I love you too Harry. I love you too." Sobbed Ginny.

Harry tore himself away from Ginny's warm embrace.

Picking up his trunk, he held out his wand arm and with a bang the knight bus appeared. Harry climbed aboard.

Ginny watched as the bus took off.

Ginny never saw Harry cry into the pillow of his bed on the knight bus. Harry knew he wouldn't be back.

Once the bus was out of sight. Ginny tore open the envelope. It wasn't a letter as such, rather a note. Which read:

Ginny,

Goodbye is all we have. I love you.

Harry x

The end.
