summary: this is not what he wanted/thorxloki drabble

The bridge shattering, the frost creeping ever-downward – Loki feels no trill, no sense of acheivement. The rainbow is fading and it's faithful guardian all but lost to winter's touch. There are patches of blue on his hands marking him as traitor and he cannot decided if he wants to scrub the blue or the white flesh off.

(this is not what he wanted)

Thor still stands but with a slight waver, an acknowledgement is there of sorrow and a bit of fear. His grip on the mjolnir is white knuckled and there is a large bruise blossoming on the side of his face. He stands smaller now, no longer with the same oversized brashness he had before Midgard but Loki fears him as much as he does Odin.

(were things truly this bad?)

The prince-lings know the price of defeat: Thor will never lay eyes on his Jane again and Loki will forever be Laufeyson. Thor wants his home to be as golden as it was in his childhood and Loki wants somebody to see him as more than a Trickster. But they are sons of Asgard, and as such they must make the hard choices.

Thor loses his heart.

Loki loses his hope.

(and only the stars bear witness to their fall)
