His Eyes Are the Reason, My Dear
Dear Diary,
Today is February 14th, and I am married to Uzumaki Naruto. My former name was Sakura Haruno, but I am so glad to have married my lovely husband. Today Naruto bought me a dozen cherry blossoms opposed to the normal roses. And then he bought me chocolate covered cherries! And of course, if that wasn't enough, compared to actually remembering, he took me out to have a picnic under a cherry blossom tree. With all my favorite foods, too!
I don't know how he does it, honestly. Tsunade-sama always had papers stacked up to the ceiling in her office. I thought that when he became Hokage, (we were dating at the time) he might be just as bad or worse. But somehow he always has time to come home and play with our daughter, Tsunade Sakura Uzumaki, and our son, Jiraiya Sasuke Uzumaki. Of course, seeing as both sannins had played an important role in their lives, it seemed fit to name our children after them.
And then their was Sasuke...My infatuation for him has passed...Mostly. I will always love Sasuke, but now I have Naruto. He's always been there. Always.
So today our daughter came up to me and asked me why I married 'Daddy.' He came up behind me and hugged me. I gave him a kiss. The kids of course, went, "EWWWWW!!" But I started to tell her why, Tsunade in my lap, Jiraiya sitting beside his father. They looked up to me, and as I leaned against my husband, Naruto, my love, I began my story.
"You see kids, we met in ninja school, of course I just brushed him off." I smiled at him, and he kissed my cheek. They kids made puke faces. I giggled, Naruto smiled, and I continued. "Well, you see, after we dealt with Uchiha Sasuke, me and your father became even closer." I patted little Sakura on her head. She smiled up at me. Naruto ruffled Sasuke's head.
"And then, it was the day that he came back from a mission that we met on the bridge, and I noticed that he was really much taller than I thought he had become after he left for training. And I looked up and saw how blonde his hair was at the base, but how it seemed dirty blond after a mission." I leaned even farther back into Naruto. "And I hugged him, and he smelled so sweet, with a subtle musk scent on him. And then he looked down at me, I looked up at him. And he whispered in my ear." I gestured to the kids to come real close so I could whisper into their ears.
"And I looked up into those hypnotizing shiny, ice blue eyes that I had come to love over the years, and he whispered in my ear, 'Meet me halfway.' And then we had our first kiss." I smiled, but then continued. "You see, I didn't kiss him because of his words, but the way his spoke. So I guess the reason I married him is his eyes, my dear." Little Sakura made a very dramatic pose and said, "That's SOO romantic!" Little Jiraiya, however, just muttered, "Girls are so gross." His dad ruffled his hair.

Naruto went ahead of me to get back to Hokage business a bit early. He took the picnic basket and left me with the blanket, since I was heading back home anyway. As he went to kiss me, he kept going to my ear and just barely whispered, "Meet me halfway." And that was the kiss of a lifetime. Yep.
His eyes were always the reason.
Always.
