This was not fair. They had a day, no, not even that, they had only had a night and now this.

Emma have Neal a hug as she and Henry prepared to leave town. They'd had an understanding back in Neverland about how the bone felt towards Regina. That wasn't to say; however, that they could not be friends. As Henry stepped forward to take her place the blonde finds herself faced with Hook.

"Swan." He smiles a smile she assumes he thinks is dashing but she kinda just wants to laugh. He's not that bad of a guy and she hopes if they all meet again they can be friends. "There won't be a day I won't think of you." He confesses. She offers a tight smile. "Shouldn't waste your time." She answers with a glance over his shoulder at a different brunette. Hook nods. "Worth a shot, good on her majesty then." They shake hands.

Regina takes his place with a grim expression. "There's one more thing." She watches the blondes already defeated posture deflate further. "How much worse can it be?" Emma whines. Regina purses her lips before answering quietly. "The curse will take us back but that's not all...this place won't ever have existed. So your memories of it won't either."

The news sinks in as the blonde shakes her head at the idea. "No no no, there has to be something!"

"It's part of the curse. That doesn't mean I can't give you a gift though." Emma perks at that, maybe there is hope. "You can preserve our memories?" But Regina shakes her head. "That's not possible. I can give you new ones though. Like with the curse before I can give you new memories where you've always been together." She motions to their son.

"Cursed. Regina they were miserable."

"They didn't have to be." Regina gives a small smirk. She then takes Emma's hand. "My gift is good memories and a good life with Henry."

"Without you. That doesn't sound like a happy ending."

Regina gives a soft humorless chuckle. "It isn't...but it's something. Don't you think you deserve a chance at a happy future?" She squeezes Emma's hand, the blonde squeezes back.

"It won't be real Regina. I just found you."

"I know and no the past won't be real…but the future will be and when we're gone maybe that will be enough. Now go. There is no more time." She gives the hand in her own one more squeeze before letting go.

Snow steps forward and Emma doesn't think she can take another speech but her mother days nothing. What can be said that hasn't been said before. She was losing her child again from the exact same curse. She didn't know if fate was ironic or just cruel. She smiled at her daughter and pressed a kiss to get forehead before going back to Charming.

Emma and Henry turn away, heading to the Bug. The blonde takes one last moment to look at Regina and memorize every detail of her face before she stays the car. The last glimpse she has is Regina and her parents watching as plumes of people clouds obscure them.

It isn't fair.

Then she blinks and glances back. She frowns before bruising it off and smiling at her son. For just a moment she thought she saw someone but they've been driving for hours now. Her mind is playing tricks from the exhaustion.

Even she, deep down, didn't believe that.

what's up guys, so I know I haven't written in forever. I was on a ten month program with Americorps NCCC. Got to travel and do a lot of cool things. I'm writing this using my phone which kinda really sucks. I miss having a computer. I'm working on rewriting Vakitso, I'll do that while I'm doing this. Hope you like it. Feeling rusty but I hope that wears off.
