Hey guys! I decided to start another story while we wait for the results of the poll for Chan in Bellwood. I know I just started a few days ago, but I feel that this story will be one that you guys will like. It will be my first One-shot. If it is successful, I will begin work on a full story to come after it. I don't own Avengers or X-men. They both belong to Marvel. Please enjoy and let me know if you want to see more from these characters.

York Town Hights, New York

It was a silent night in Chords Street. All was calm. Too calm. Why, you might ask, would one say that. Well you see, Chords Street isn't the friendliest place in the world.

It was usually a crime riddled street that saw action every other week. There were gang outbreaks, muggings, and more. You name the crime, you'll find it has happened at some point on this street. You couldn't walk outside without some form of protection, even if you were a strong guy. Tonight, however, all were silent.

The silence was broken by the sound of gunshots. The police scrambled to get to the scene. They were currently trying to prevent an all out gang war, and they feared that someone could be lighting that keg. They finally arrived, only to find a girl in the corner trying to stay as far from a group of tied up thugs as possible. They were puzzled, until one of the cops pulled a sticky note off the wall.

"Bullseye?" read the cop.

"Great!" shouted the police chief. "Just what we need. A dang vigilante agitating the local gang!" The chief stomped out of the building, mad as heck. He wasn't aware of the shadow on the roof watching him.

Bullseye was wearing a black mask that covered his eyes, a black trench coat, gray T-shirt with his namesake on it, black pants, black boots, a holster on each leg, and a quiver on his back. He held a bow in his hand. One could say he took a page from Batman's book. He grabbed a medallion from around his neck, and stared of into the distance. He could see everything for miles. He usually saw crimes before they even happened. He looked at the time on another man's watch. He quickly leapt to the next building and took off deeper into the city.

Elsewhere, a kid was walking out of school with his head down. He wore a brown coat with a gray hood, regular bluejeans, normal red sneakers, and gloves. The weird thing wasn't that he was wearing gloves today. The weird thing was that he wore gloves everywhere he went.

He rounded a corner, when three kids stood in his path. The biggest of them stepped forward.

"Hey 'Dummytree,' what's the deal with you and those stupid gloves?" asked the bully. Dimitri looked towards the group.

"I work in an ice factory..." lied Dimitri.

"Ain't no such thing!" shouted the skinny one.

"Yeah! What ya really got going on?" asked the fat one. The big one walked over and tried to pull the gloves off Dimitri, but they wouldn't come off.

"What are they? Stuck?" asked the big one.

"You caught me!" shouted Dimitri trying to get them to leave. "They've been stuck for a long time. I just found a guy who could get them off, which is where I'm going right now. So, if you'd excuse me..." he was cut off as two of them held him against the wall.

"Hope ya didn't pay him before hand, 'cause I'm gonna rip them off for ya!" shouted the big one as he continued to pull on the gloves. Dimitri screamed in pain as the boy continued to pull on his gloves. He could feel the hair under them being yanked at every tug. He couldn't hold it anymore and the gloves came off.

"That should do..." started the big one before he got a good look at the Dimitri's hands. They had long claws and were covered in hair. "You're one of those freaks! Boys! Show him what freaks deserve!"

The two began kneeing Dimitri in the stomach. Dimitri could have taken them on, but he wasn't brave enough to stand up for himself. Every other mutant who stood up for themselves wound up arrested or worst. They threw him on the ground. Before they could continue, gunshots sounded off. They turned to find the vigilante Bullseye with his gun pointed towards them.

"Get before we find out if I can hit three targets with one bullet!" shouted Bullseye as the group ran off. Dimitri was on the ground crying.

"You okay D?" asked the vigilante.

"Thanks C." responded Dimitri as he wiped his nose with his sleeve. C was his friend from the sixth grade. He didn't care if Dimitri was a mutant, he was a kid just like him, in more ways then one.

"I'd suggest trimming your nails and shaving your hands but..." started C.

"But it just grows back in a matter of hours!" shouted Dimitri in anger. "Plus I'm not ashamed of what I am!"

"I was getting to that last part. You need to lighten up a bit."

"Says the vigilante who lives through every encounter with a literal target on his chest. How do you even do that? You're not a mutant."

"I've just got Dad's luck."

"Who is your pops." He grabbed his mouth as C looked at the ground.

"I'm sorry C!" shouted Dimitri.

"It's fine." sighed C. "Besides, I deserve it for bringing up the hand thing."

"You never deserve what I just did."

"You're too kind for your own good D." C rubbed Dimitri's head. They walked out of the alley way and made their way to an old building. When they entered the building, C removed his mask. He had one light blue eye and one blind eye.

He placed the mask on a worn down table. He sat on the couch and turned on the old tv to the only station he could hack, the news. It was a story about one of his successful outings. He was proud of what he did. The chief of police was on.

"With the rise in gang activity, we can only assume that it's because vigilante's like him are riling them up." said the police commissioner in irritation.

"While that is true, a public study shows people generally feel safer with this 'Bullseye' patrolling the streets." argued the reporter. "What's your response to that?" The police chief had nothing to say. He made a motion that C knew meant to cut the camera. It switched to J. Jonah Jamison and another person.

"Well it looks like we lost connection to the camera." said the anchor. "Mr. Jamison, you are one of the biggest supporters of Bullseye. One must wonder, what's so different about him than someone like Spider-Man?"

"He isn't like them." answered JJJ. "He's made an entire street safer. He also seems like a kid who just wants to do good. Honestly, I see a kid who looks at the problems of this world and says 'I'm gonna do something,' and since the fall of the Avengers, we need someone like that." He made a motion and it changed to the weather report.

C stopped watching from there. He made his way over to the fridge, and he pulled out a sandwich. He looked over to find Dimitri already eating his turkey. He sat beside him and began to chow down. Half way through eating, however, the news went to breaking news.

"The Blue Hogs and the Red Gerbils have started an all out gang war in Central Park!" shouted the reporter. "It's advised that all civilians please stay away from the area as police try to get control of the situation!" C got up from his chair.

"Can't even finish a good sandwich these days." murmured C as he put on his mask. He was about to walk out the door, when he heard a bunch of banging coming from Dimitri's room.

"Wait!" shouted Dimitri as he walked out with a make shift costume on. The only difference in his outfit was a pair of fingerless gloves, some wraps around his legs and the midsection of his foot, and an orange mask similar to Bullseye's.

"I'm coming with you!"

"No Dimitri!" argued C with his Bullseye voice. "It's too..."

"Too what? Too dangerous for a normal kid. Well guess what. I'm not normal! I'm sick of you throwing your life on the line while I sit on the sidelines! I wanna do something for once! I'm not afraid!"

"Can you take a life? If the situation calls for it, can you kill someone?" Dimitri didn't want to answer that question. "I cannot let you come if you're not willing to due what needs to be done. I'm sorry, but it's nice to know you care. See ya later."

With that he left. Dimitri got so flustered that he kicked a rock at the wall. The wall broke apart to reveal a hidden room. Dimitri walked closer. He gasped at what he found.

C reached the destination. The gangs really were making a mess. There were a few bodies around the area, but most of them were blown up mannequins. He ran across the park and pulled out his guns. He grabbed the stone on his necklace, then ran into battle.

"Bullseye! 12 o'clock!" shouted one of the gangsters as he aimed his gun. Bullseye pulled the trigger first and disarmed five gangsters in one shot. He fought a few in close combat. He hit some pressure points and they fell one by one. He continued this cycle until he got to the heat of the action.

The gang leaders staired each other down. Boss Red had a machine gun in one hand and a pistol in the other. Boss Blue was holding a lighter and a bomb. They each took a step forward. They were interrupted by two bullets, one each landing in front of them respectively.

They turned to see Bullseye standing with his guns pointed at them.

"Give up now before I do something I don't like to do." shouted Bullseye.

"If it isn't the famous Bullseye!" shouted Boss Red.

"Finally!" followed Boss Blue. "I get to see what's inside the little twerp."

"You won't get the chance. I've got to have him in my roster." They both started fighting each other, but they made sure to send some blasts and bombs towards Bullseye.

"What's it gonna be boys?" asked Bullseye as he shot some bullets at them. "Kill me? Recruit me? Either way, you won't get what you want." He dodged left and right.

Shooting in the same way. He was suddenly pushed away by the blast of a large bomb. It was a miracle that he was still alive. Boss Blue landed a crippling blow to Boss Red, then walked over to Bullseye.

"I'm gonna enjoy seein what makes ya tick." whispered Boss Blue as he pulled out a knife. He inched closer. Twisting the blade in his hand. He raised his weapon. He dropped it as he felt a sharp pain dig into his side.

He was thrown to the side. He looked to find Dimitri in his vigilante outfit, with a stone necklace similar to Bullseye's hanging from his neck.

"Leave my friend alone!" roared Dimitri as he ran on all fours towards Boss Blue. Boss Blue reached for his bag of explosives, only to find it drowned in the river beside him. He looked up in horror as Dimitri clawed at him. Dimitri left huge gashes in Boss Blue's body.

"Who are you?" asked Blue Boss in both pain and fear.

"Saber...tooth!" slowly said Dimitri as he walked over to Bullseye. All the gangsters stopped and watched him walk away. He would growl and stare at the gangsters as he continued his prideful strut. He would snarl at the ones that would make a move and they'd rethink their decision. They dropped their weapons as he reached his friend.

"D?" asked Bullseye in pain.

"It's Sabertooth out here Bullseye." argued Sabertooth as he picked up his friend. He carried him away as officers came in to arrest the gang members. Dimitri sat in the back of the ambulance next to C as they were whisked away to the nearest hospital. He waited in the other room, the furthest he'd ever get from his friend. He entered the hospital room as the nurse opened the door.

"C?" asked Dimitri back to his timid self.

"You get the number of the tank that hit me?" asked C as he looked at his friend. "When did you get so brave?"

"When I found a secret room in the house. Turns out it might have once been a secret vault of some sort. I found this stone and one other. Hey! It looks like the one around your neck." C pulled on his amulet. The hawk on it glew as his blind eye turned to a normal sky blue one and his other one became intense.

"How'd you..." started C.

"Threatened to claw their eyes out if they took your mask or your necklace." answered Dimitri before the question could be finished. He then pointed to the stone on his necklace. The lion mark on it glew for a second, but then it turned back to normal. "This stone gives me major anger issues and the fighting spirit to back it up." The doctor came in and C sat up a bit.

Dimitri had a look of concern on his face.

"Don't worry." assured the doctor. "There's no serious injuries, but that's not why I'm here. I was planning to ask you how we could get in contact with your parents, when a man came in proclaiming to be your legal guardian. He had the proper paperwork and his I.D. checked clear. Do you want to see him?" C was silent for a moment.

"Let him in." said C with determination. The doctor walked out and a few minutes later, J. Jonah Jamison walked into the room.

"How do you get yourself into these situations kid?" asked JJJ.

"I have to help people." answered C as he laid back down in his bed. Dimitri looked over at JJJ. JJJ noticed Dimitri, then looked at C.

"Who's this?" asked JJJ.

"Dimitri." answered C. "He's a friend of mine."

"Look. I get that you don't want anything to happen to me, but you need to come home. Child security won't have a kid like you living by yourself." C was silent for a moment. He didn't like what his guardian said, but it was true. He couldn't live off stolen and donated food forever. He couldn't leave Dimitri, however. An idea flashed in his mind.

"I have two conditions." said C. "One, everything that we own from that house comes with us."

"We?" interrupted JJJ.

"And two, Dimitri comes with me." Both JJJ and Dimitri look at C in shock, with the former more surprised and the latter in pure joy that his friend would say that.

"I can't accept that." argued JJJ. "I don't think I can handle two kids."

"Well it's either that or I stay on my own. Either he comes with me or I stay with him. I won't leave my friend behind. Cole Barton never turns his back on family!" JJJ knew there was no point in arguing.

When Cole refers to himself using his first and last name, he's made up his mind. He looked over at Dimitri. He knew no one would take in a mutant in this day and age. He felt bad for the kid as he looked into his brown eyes. He finally cracked under pressure, something only Cole could make him do.

"I'll agree to your demands." said JJJ in defeat. He knew he wouldn't take care of them alone. He knew a certain smart butt mutant who not only be sble to help him care for them, but homeschool them so that Dimitri wouldn't have to face society's wrath. Dimitri got a look in his eyes that Cole knew all too well.

"Gentle! Gentle!" shouted Cole as Dimitri slammed into him giving him a hug.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" shouted Dimitri as tears rolled down his eyes.

"Lungs! Lungs!"

"Oh! Sorry!" It took a few days for Cole to be let out of the hospital and a few more days for them to get their stuff. They made sure to grab the other stone as they packed. Dimitri was caught trying to pack the fridge. Cole told him he couldn't bring it, which made him think some not nice things.

Queens, New York

Dimitri regretted every harsh thought as he stared at the huge refrigerator in his new home's kitchen. It even had an ice machine. It had a lot of shelves, more than he ever imagined any fridge could hold. He was was overwhelmed by it. JJJ walked through with a phone in hand.

"That's the situation Hank." finished JJJ as he sat on the couch.

"I don't know John." hesitated Hank. "I have students to teach and a school to keep up with."

"It'll just be on a few school days. Look I'll sweeten the deal. I already support mutants in my newspaper, but what if I look for mutants in need? While I'm at it, I'll donate to the school." Hank pondered. Then he stopped as if a voice went through his head.

"All right. You've got a deal John." sighed Hank in compliance. "What are the childrens' names again. Just wanna make sure."

"Cole Barton and Dimitri." answered John.

"No last name?"

"I don't think he even knows who his father is. Hey Dimitri? You got a last name?"

"Um..." sighed Dimitri as he tried to think. "I think it starts with an H. That's all I know." Dimitri ran off to his room as he heard Cole call his name.

"Wait. Barton? As in..." started Hank as he was intrigued by Cole's last name.

"Yes." answered John. "The old hawk had a kid."

"I'll start tomorrow." Hank quickly hung up. John looked at his phone awkwardly before turning it off. He walked over to the boys' room as he saw them talking.

"Hit the sack!" shouted John as he walked down the hall to his room. Inside the room, they were getting into their beds.

"Why'd you lie to him about your last name?" asked Cole.

"I just don't think I wanna open that can of worms." answered Dimitri as he yawned. "Night Cole."

"Night Dimitri." They were fast asleep. They didn't know that off at the Exavier Estate, Hank sat on his bed, thinking about something. He looked at his blue haired self in the mirror.

"I'll finally get to keep my promise Clint."

The end?

So there you have it! The son of Clint Barton, a.k.a Hawkeye, is living with his best friend Dimitri and his legal guardian J. Jonah Jamison. I left some questions unanswered. What happened to the Avengers? Who's Dimitri's father? And why is J. Jonah Jamison the legal guardian of Cole? I left these and more unanswered just in case you guys want more of these characters. If you do, please let me know in a review. Also, if you like this one-shot, try out my first story that I mentioned above. Anyway, until next time readers.
