First Light

Chapter 1:

The world has always been a dark place for me. My parents have always said that there was once light in the pitch black that lied in front of me. I found it hard to believe, as we would see it if it was there, no? I've always lived by that code, and I always would.

I lived in the European Dead Zone, but when I was a boy we just called it Old Germany. My parents said we lived in the city once called Frankfurt before the collapse, a city bustling with people every day. I used to look around and think to myself "People? Here? That's a strange thought."

My tale begins with a normal day of scavenging supplies in the downtown area, where my life would change drastically- for better or for worse.
